Democratic Opposition to the War: Know Thine Enemy
Portland Oregonian | December 15, 2003 | Not listed

THE DYING CONTINUES IN IRAQ....

With seemingly everyone, inclucing Howard Dean, rushing to acclaim the capture of Saddam Hussien, it must not be forgotten that America was led there by Lies and deception by President Bush.

We went to war in Iraq because of its weapons of mass destruction- whether nuclear, chemical, of biological - and reputed efforts to buy fissionable material from Niger. These rationales were promoted before the United Nations, in the State of the Union speech, and before Congreessional committees.

None of these reasons has proved to be legitimate. Yet, much opf America applauds.

Any celebration of Saddam's capture must be tempered by the fact that America's leadership just doesn't get the fact that the people of the Middle East don't think like we do, nor are they going to just because our leadership wants to spray-paint democracy in the desert sand.

Saddam Hussien rose to power and brutal control by exploiting the historic differences among the "Iraqi" people. Others likely will follow him, in time.

No opponent of George W. Bush in 2004 will carry the day unless the president's attitude of "My way, or the highway", together with his blatant lying, environmental manipulation, and fiscal Monopoly, are debunked in the eyes and hearts of America's voters.

So far, that person has yet to come forward, and too many Americans just want to look the other way. Meanwhile, none of us should luxuriate in finding a tyrant in a hole as some latest version of "Mission Accomplished". Our troops are still dying over there.

This was published just this morning in the Portland Oregonian, as a letter to the editor. I did not include the individual's name, although the newspaper did publish it.

This is the face of the opposition, and I think it proves that the far left will NEVER be satisfied with anything that a Republican administration accomplishes, no matter what. Unfortunately, there are far too many people who think this way in the Portland area.

I guess the water from Lake Oswego contains enough crack to be in violation of EPA regulations.

Iraqis Removed Arms Material, U.S. Aide Says

Report: U.S suspects Iraqi WMD in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley

And let's not forget another CIA major "DUH" alert on the uranium story:

The agency [CIA] pointed out that Iraq already had 500 tons of uranium, portions of which came from Niger, according to the International Atomic Energy Administration (IAEA).

An unsigned CIA memo on Oct. 5 advised that "the CIA had reservations about the British reporting" on Iraq's alleged attempts in Niger, Hadley [No.2 guy on Bush's National Security team] said. A second memo, sent on Oct. 6, elaborated on the CIA's doubts, describing "some weakness in the evidence," such as the fact that Iraq already had a large stock of uranium and probably wouldn't need more, Hadley said.

the leftist boobs are out in force this morning i see. ive never seen so many people who so willfully wear those rose colored glasses or blinders .

people like this who write these stupid screeds should be ignored, completly ignored like the little foot stamping, spoiled, churlish ,tots they are.
If they didn't have an audience and didn't get a response they would eventually shut up and go home. the peace Nick's had their time in the sun a long time ago.

they are not relevant any longer and the faster they figure this out the better off we all will be.
