I tried to explain to some of my friends from former Soviet block countries that the real situation in Iraq wasn't that bad. They didn't understand what I meant by the news not telling the truth. Finally I said "Think Pravda". A light clicked on and they simply nodded.

"This is an oil country and it should be rich. It should not be Afghanistan." Ouch - that has got to hurt. I can tell you one thing though, they are not waiting in line for hours to fill up their tanks in Kabul...

Sounds as if the quoted individuals are in denial. I don't think they can accept the fact that Saddam (the Lion of Bagdad) lived like a Bagwoman and allowed himself to be taken alive. This is a major embarassment to all Muslim fundamentalists and strongly demonstrates the cowardice at its core.
So in a bit of tranference, they b*tch about electricity and petrol.
Reuters is johnny-on-the-spot to assist in degrading what is actually a prime objective met in the war.
Congrats to our armed forces and intelligence services and to the leadership in the executive and congressional arms of our government.

I heard this drivel yesterday morning shortly after the capture and just shook my head. Doesn't take long to see the glass return to "half empty".

OK - not trying to add any authenticity to the reports -
But if there are any Iraqis NOT happy about the capture of Saddam, it would be those who benefitted from his life.
Any others need a lesson in being thankful - especially when so much is far BETTER than before the US liberated them from the murderous dictator.

The only people not cheering were members of the 'Baath' Party - the "Dimocratic Party" of Iraq!

Yeah! Being the world's greatest Super Power with unparalelled moral authority in the history of Earth is just another thankless day at the office with twisted demonic yellow journalism by Reuters!!!
May a thousand Iraqie sand fleas infest their shorts, along with George Soros' "shorts!"
There!!! How's that for an early morning, waitin on the market to open, comment? It's hard to find time to comment while backing up the moving van to buy US stock Mutual Funds in spite of Eliot "Ness" Spitzer's aspersions!!!
Anybody remember anything about a former militant "First Lady" visiting Ashcanistan and Iwrack??? Comments?

Sounds as if the quoted individuals are in denial.Yes, and when you look at this statement what also does it remind you of:
"But whether he's in a hole or in jail, it does nothing for me today, it won't feed me or protect me or send my children to school," he said.
Sounds to me like hillary got a little to close to this dude when she visited and stunk up the place.
