I can't imagine living in Saddam's Iraq and can only imagine the joy of his capture by those who suffered under him. What a lovely gesture.

That IS a nice photo. The brightly colored flowers against the blanket of white snow fronting the WH. You can tell the man carrying his homemade sign and the flowers is deeply grateful.
God bless our POTUS, our brave and determined troops and Tony Blair too.

A truly unforgettable 24 - 36 hours. I love our president. Bush-bot, that's me. And proud of it. :)
Especially satisfying for the 4th ID, God bless them. They've sacrificed so many. May they rest in peace.

Disturbing: Communist activism in Iraq
Much of the celebrations have been accompanied by the red flags of the Iraqi Communist Party, many of them complete with a hammer and sickle. Today, there was more celebration.... and there were more red flags. Their is a communist element trying to capitalize on this. I find it interesting that there were no red flags until very recently. There is a concerted effort to hijack this freedom. This story is not being reported by any media that I can find...

Thanks for posting this; I noticed those red flags and wondered what was up with them.

Fox and friends were lauding the flag wavers this morning. I e mailed them that the celebrators were the Iraqi communists.
In the next segment Steve Doocy explained that their headquarters was around the corner from the Fox Bagdad bureau.

Meg ....... Thanks for pinging me to this heartwarming picture.
Wasn't it great to see the Iraqi people celebrating the capture yesterday.
It was definitely a day for rejoicing.

Bill,
They're not communist flags. They're some kind of muslim flag. I think they're related to the main Shiite group. They do resemble the Soviet flag at first glance but the "sickle" is an Islamic crescent.

Red, white and blue flowers at that. ############################## thanks, I guess the overload of too much wall-to-wall Saddam kept me from noticing that...
I was paying too much attention to the poster and caption...
