Gore's Hands of Stone (interesting info concerning MoveOn.org)

The vast left-wing conspiracy has gone international.
A Swedish Web operation thought it would be a good idea to solicit contributions from Europeans to the liberal American group MoveOn.org. "One dollar per EU-citizen would suffice to raise more money than the entire Bush campaign budget for the elections in 2000," reasoned the Web site, hem.passagen.se/democracyaid/. "Compare this price to the cost of having Bush in the White House."
But there was a problem. MoveOn didn't want the money. In some cases, such contributions would be illegal; in other cases, they would be legal but would give the unhelpful impression that MoveOn is orchestrating a European takeover of the United States.

Drudge has it on his site. MoveON couldn't get enough donations from Americans - so they've moved on to elitist in other countries. MiddleEast thugs will happily fork over cash to get rid of Bush, and these Hollywood creeps are there with hands out.
This is the reason Democrats wanted campaign finance reform. Wink and nod systems offer them more cash. Are there any ethical democrats left?
I bet MoveOn.org takes the money via a third party website to avoid FBI investigation - just as one DUer suggested.

Well, why aren't conservative organizations soliciting funds world-wide?

I wonder how the Swedes would feel if all Americans donated one dollar a piece to influence the Swedish national elections?
Y'know, that's an interesting thought to explore. Which countries don't give a rip who gives money to whom for elections? Are there any?
