Reagan shouldn't be on the dime beacuse he isn't dead. I love the man and what he did but there is a time and place for those honors. That said I'd still like to see FDR off the dime. How about we replace Franklin with Teddy (the good Roosevelt.) If the liberals want FDR's face on something they should settle for food stamps.

Freepers probably paid attention to Nancy Regan when she said it was a bad idea and she didn't support it.

I smell a rat. The American commiesimps have no greater hero than FDR and no greater loathing for anyone than RR. The way they rule the media, they could start this process and then make it look like some "right wing conspiracy" to write FDR out of history.

Put Reagan on the paper Two Dollar Bill, and eliminate the one dollar bill.

I agree with other Freepers that have suggested Reagan for the quarter instead of the dime. George Washington is already on the one dollar bill. Replace him on the quarter with Reagan.

The likeness of FDR on Food stamps is a fitting idea, where would one start a petition to properly honor this great man? Re-name all housing projects in his honor as well (or allow him to share the housing projects honor with LBJ)
(FDR ended prohibition all jokes aside, I think his likeness on a beer bottle would sell, any micro-brewers out there?)

I want Roosevelt's image to remain on the dime to remind every US citizen of the disastrous consequences of his influence on our society, our governance and our culture.
He is in a league with but a handful others who's image should be burned into our common psyche lest we never forget that a moments lack of vigilance can loose the seeds of our destruction among us.
May his name and his philosophy live in infamy forever.

It'd be fun in a high stakes poker game, (man peeling off a Reagan $500 bill) "I'll 'see' that Reagan and raise ya two Ben Franklins."

IT's a terrible idea and that's why the left is playing it. FDR wasn't worth a nickel -- much less a dime. However, most people -- liberals and conservatives -- don't favor this idea.

Seems to me that this effort was doomed from the start because of it's mixed motives. Was the effort here to honor Reagan or diminish FDR?.. or both? If any part of it was to diminish FDR then doesn't that tarnish the intent of honoring Reagan?
Seems to me that the effort was highly charged politically and was not a clear and convincing effort to honor Reagan. The promoters of this idea did a disservice to the memory of Reagan by using him as a partial foil to castigate FDR.

I'd never see it then. I can't remember the last time I had a hundred dollar bill.
Got a lot of quarters, though.

I'd vote that we have a new denomination; and put Ron's picture on a five hundred dollar bill! But the $500 bill is already taken. It is graced by a portrait of another fine Republican, William McKinley, who still posts here. You mean you don't have a wallet full of them?
OK, so it's been out of print for decades, and is officially out of circulation. It's still legal tender. Worth a good bit more than its face value to collectors, I'm sure.

My father remembers his father having $1,000 bills back in the 1930's or 40's... back when they were called "silver certiciates." It seems that there was considerably more cash transaction in the steel business in thiose days, especially when a counterfeit bill was almost impossible.

I think Roosevelt ought to stay on the dime.
To: freedom44
Having Roosevelt on the dime adds so much more to the expression:
"[ ] isn't worth a dime!"
To: freedom44
U.S. Constitution Article 1, Secton 10, Clause 1, no state shall...make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in the payment of debt.
Until we start obeying the Constitution it matters not whose picture is on the tokens.
