In each case, Gore kept his own counsel and did not inform advisers (with the probable exception of his daughter Karenna).

It's typical Dem arrogance: I know best. My children know second best. No one else unstands these things.

In each case, Gore kept his own counsel and did not inform advisers (with the probable exception of his daughter Karenna). Critical 2000 campaign veterans contend that this isolation led to faulty tactics in the debate and to a questionable decision in the recent endorsement.

This is in NO WAY intended as a general defense of Gore, who is clearly an imbecile, but the man has the right to endorse anyone he wants for President, and he has the right to do that without the counsel of a bunch of "critical 2000 campaign veterans" who weren't even smart enough to help him win his home state.

Yeah! Remember Chelsea in the Peace Talks?

This was written in Feb. 2001 by John Derbyshire:

At the Middle East peace talks in Camp David last year, Chelsea took dinner with her father and Ehud Barak, and so monopolized the conversation, the Israelis are said to have been offended.

I absolutley agree. Democrat presidents - Carter and Clinton - had to make every decision on every thing. Lauded in the press for working long nights and being super-intelligent policy wonks. Republican presidents - Reagan and Bush II - hire extremely competent staffs and delegate. They go to bed at night and are riducled in the press for being idiots and unaware.

This difference in perception is the biggest diff IMHO bt Rats and Reps. Mature people know that the only effective way to accomplish goals is by quarterbacking a great team, not scoring the highest on your SAT. Democrats believe in philosopher-kings - the first step to fascism, whereas republicans, usually more aware of business, understand the value of a leader who will make the tough calls but delegate responsibility.
