There are many degrees of depression and no single shoe fits. Each of us comes here with one perspective; no one person has advice that can be accepted by everyone.

I believe that empowering people to find solutions to their life problems is a great way to deal with garden-variety depression.

Not coincidentally, I believe, being successful in life objectives correlates well with absence of depression.

We are in agreement. I posted before I saw your account of it.

Serious depression can include debilitating physical symptoms, like head pain and extreme weakness. It can also include confusion, psychosis, mania, positive symptoms, negative symptoms (schizoid) that make simple functioning a daunting task.

I speak of the serious form of the illness, not garden variety, wrong diagnosis, situational, personality disorders, hypochondriac, anxiety, etc.

There is too much disinformation out there by biased parties with financial or political interests in the matter.

I have studied and analyzed the topic without those biases, as well as forming rational conclusions based on 1st person observation.

I see the topic from within, and from an objective analysis.
