See also my last post: Even depression problems that start out emotionally end up causing physical problems that exacerbate the depression further. So which is the cause, and which is the symptom? I say the cause is emotional/mental/philosophical. Adherence to the culture of death, which the Dems are so taken with, is the primary cause.
Depression causes the physical symptoms that are so readily scientifically verifiable, not the other way around.

If it wasn't for Jesus, I wouldn't have taken the meds in the first place. I told God shortly after reading Job that I would trust Him throughout this ordeal. God then put me on the path to His own dedicated folks after I rejected secular counselors. They knew better than me what was going on physically, emotionally, and spiritually in my battle. What I needed medically, what to expect from me during recovery, when to drop standard practices and be there for me, and when to help me slowly "drop the crutches away," so to speak. He also protected me when I needed protection and intervened when that was necessary also. If He didn't want me to have the medicines, I was trusting Him to keep that from happening. As it was, He didn't. They helped. I currently no longer need them.
Do you know better than God what I need?

If I fail to use logic, please point it out.
I've seen that "You've just proven yourself" rigmarole that people use to try to get out of responding logically. And what's more, you are hinting that I'm illogical due to a "depressive personality."
Yet, you don't point out the flaws in my logic. Please make an effort to argue from logic.
"Watch and learn" LOL!

DON'T GIVE UP ON FIGHTING DEPRESSION. TELL YOUR MEDICAL DOCTOR. GET MEDICAL HELP. IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Living is easy if you just remember to quit taking yourself so seriously.I've never done that, but have tried. It was very difficult and the attempt was done at a time when I was having a difficult period and the external noise made it very hard to concentrate. But it is a worthy goal.

Whoa, dude. Check your sarcasmeter and turn down the defensiveness. My gratitude was and is genuine.

Let me guess, another "expert" on clinical depression... Been there done that. You're barking up the wrong tree. I'm an ex- Liberal. :) My comments have not been cavalier.

So why haven't you done it?

There are a bunch of ignorant so-and-sos on this thread who have no freakin' clue as to what they are talking about. But it's nice to know that there are plenty who understand that clinical depression is not just having the blues or feeling sorry for one's self, but a whole different ball game altogether.

Thanks for the ping.
This is a very sad situation. I too had a close friend that took his life a little over one year ago. It was such a shock. This guy had so many things going for him it was hard to understand. I was so angry at him for such a long time. It still breaks my heart when I think of what he did to his wife and children, but I have never felt that kind of pain and pray that I never do.
God bless TrappedInLiberalHell's family.

The difference between clinical depression and 'feeling down' is like the difference between shooting a bullet and throwing a bullet.
