EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Shoshana Johnson, who spent 22 days as a prisoner of war in Iraq after being shot during an ambush, was discharged from the Army on Friday.
"Although I am now leaving the Army, I in no way regret my time in the military," Johnson said in a statement.

God Bless , Shoshana.

She was on Leno, a very impressive person.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who consulted the Johnson family, said in October that race was playing a part in Army's decision. Lynch is white; Johnson is black. Yes...Because the Army would gain so much by sticking it to the young black women... *rolling eyes*.

Shoshana is a class act, I hope she gets a better break on her disability.

Best of luck to Ms. Johnson - full recovery, career as a cook :-) ... and a total escape from Jesse Jackson.

I don't think the military singled out Jessica Lynch. It was the media. Shoshana Johnson deserves our thanks, and so do a lot of other heroes in Iraq. I hope she continues to take pride in her accomplishments and doesn't let the unfairness of life sour her.

"She was on Leno, a very impressive person."Agreed. I seldom watch those interviews and come away thinking I'd really like to meet the person, but with her I did. I hope things work out OK for her. I don't know anything about how the military determines disability payments, but I can certainly believe she'll have ongoing problems with her ankles.
To: Cicero
I agree with that. The media made Jessica Lynch into something she didn't want to be and didn't ask for.
I would wish Shoshana well, and that she heals with time.

I hope she receives the help she needs and deserves, but I wish her family would dispatch Jack$on.

Much better suited for the limelight than Lynch. Hopefully someone will work up a book deal for her.

I would say that JL has at least 80% disability. I did not buy her book. I wish this girl luck in getting her disability reviewed. As long as she doesn't use the race card or push JJ at me and continues to support the army, I might buy her book if she decides to write one though.
To: RobbyS
I agree but the media isn't interested. Helluva time if the media isn't interested in you.
