4TH ID SOLDIERS CAPTURE FEDAYEEN AND CONFISCATE LARGE WEAPONS CACHE
TIKRIT, Iraq In an early morning raid in Tikrit on Dec. 11, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment soldiers captured four Fedayeen members and confiscated a significant amount of weapons and ammunition that were hidden throughout the house including under the mattresses of sleeping children and buried in the garden.
Soldiers confiscated three AK-47 assault rifles, one rocket propelled grenade launcher, one 120mm mortar tube, nine 82mm mortars, 19 82mm mortar fuses, 60 fragmentary grenades, one white phosphorous grenade, one rifle grenade, three CS gas grenades, 250 grenade fuses, five improvised explosive devices, five soda can bombs, two remote doorbell assemblies use to detonate improvised explosive devices, one protective gas mask, uniforms from the former Iraqi army, nine AK-47 ammunition magazines and Fedayeen and anti-Coalition document and flyers.
Lt. Col. Steve Russell, 1-22 Inf. commander, said that the cache was like a Fedayeen candy store. He said the Coalition continues aggressive operations to eradicate remnants of subversive elements hindering progress in Iraq.

BTW, anybody catch the HISTORY CHANNEL'S show last nite on the subject of post-war infiltration, sabotage, and murder by............the NAZI 'Werewolves'? It was a VERY timely and relevant show given what our boys are faced with. Maybe it will be rerun this weekend.
