Just when you thought the German "peace" movement couldn't get much more hypocritical they take things to a whole new level. Last week the unbelievable lack of protest at the German government's plutonium and arms deal with Communist China made it seem as the peace freaks had all rolled up into a big ball for a long winter hibernation.
Not so! The German TV news program "Panorama" uncovered some of the wonderful activities that particularly dedicated cadres of the German peace movement are currently engaged in. In the spirit of peace, a number of groups have started a fund-raising campaign entitled "10 Euros for the Iraqi Resistance". The money will be provided to the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance (IPA) a group dedicated to carrying out attacks against US soldiers in Iraq in collaboration with Saddam loyalists. The common goal is to "liberate" the Iraqi people from the evil imperialist American occupiers. On their website these groups gush with enthusiasm about turning Iraq into another Vietnam for the USA.
Don't you just love peace?
Joachim Guilliard from Heidelberg is a "peace" activist who actively supports the armed resistance in Iraq. Joachim Guilliard (anti-war forum in Heidelberg, Germany): "Resistance, also military resistance against the occupiers is naturally legitimate. This has no relation to terrorism."
At home, Joachim Guilliard openly calls for the support of underground fighters because of their supposed "right to resistance." Guilliard: "I think the peace movement should stand for exactly this right of the Iraqis that I hold to be reasonable to inflict the necessary losses on the occupation troops."
Commentary: Dead Americans, cheering Iraqis. Victims of the "Resistance fighters."
For this type of resistance the German war opponents have even started a funds drive in several cities. "Ten Euro for the Iraqi people in resistance." Yesterday they collected in Duisburg.
Commentary:
The campaign is clearly having success. The shady transfer of the money to the Iraqi resistance is also already planned.
Thomas Zmrzly (war opponent) "Yes, it could be very dangerous. We are collecting the money to support the Iraqi people in resistance in their legitimate fight against the occupation. We want to send a delegation to Iraq next year, but we know how dangerous such a delegation would be."
Interviewer: "Where is the money going that the students are donating?"
Henning von Stoltzenberg: (war opponent) "The contact partner in Iraq is the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance, a coaltion of all political spectrums in the Iraqi society."
Commentary: The Patriotic Alliance shows what it does on camera: Terror attacks. With regard to this Patriotic Alliance you are at the right address if you are in favor of killing Americans. The Alliance's fighters are proud of their attacks.
Leading functionaries of the Patriotic alliance make appearances in Germany completely uninhibited. Together with Saddam Hussein they founded the Baath party...now they are organizing attacks.
The members of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party are profiting from the Euros donated by the German peace activists - with the knowledge of the Germans.
Jocahim Guilliard: "I think when one supports the resistance I would not tell them who they then work with. So I would support it if the Patriotic Alliance worked together with the Baathists."
Commentary: German leftists are working together with Saddam's partners? Even Iraq's far left has the slightest understanding or tolerance for that.
Rashid Ghwielib: (Communist Party of Iraq) "To be against the occupation does not mean that you can support these criminal attacks, the so-called resistance in Iraq."
Commentary: But such criticism finds no takers with some peace groups.
Peace Activist: "I support the Iraqi resistance even if it is run by people who used to support Saddam Hussein... I have nothing against that."
Jocahim Guilliard: "I think when one supports the resistance I would not tell them who they then work with. So I would support it if the Patriotic Alliance worked together with the Baathists."
That sums it up perfectly. As long as the US and British forces are forced to withdraw, then he'd be perfectly happy to have a carbon copy of Saddam's regime back in power in Iraq.
Leftists are hypocrits, they turned a blind eye to Stalin's "great terror" and his numerous purges, but they never stop talking about Hitler's holocaust or the Vietnam war. Personally, I think this bloke and his fellow ringleaders are prime candidates for a CIA or an MI6 hit. Failing that, the US and Britain should threaten Germany with economic sanctions unless thay prosecute him and his ilk for bankrolling terrorists, last time I checked that was still a crime in the EU.
