[history]
Hundreds of people angered by the repeal of a law allowing undocumented immigrants to apply for driver's licenses took to the streets of cities around the state Friday to kick off a daylong boycott.
The protest came in response to the Legislature's action last week and as part of an effort to highlight the economic contribution of California's Hispanic community, the nation's largest. The protest was planned to coincide with the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

A hundred people out of what a state with 12-15 million. Again the media taking sides - I would call this demonstration a complete failure. They would definitely get more support if they had demonstrations to kill whitey or hate Bush participants.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Illegal Alien, I agree it's terrible here for you, please go home to Mexico and while you're at it. Take a few friends home with you.

If they're going to boycott shopping then maybe today is a PERFECT day to go Christmas shopping. Especially at Costco, Target, and KMart.

The Pro-Aztlan supporters should boycott going to school and work permanently. In fact, they should just boycott America.

About 400 people marched into East Los Angeles waving signs that said, in Spanish, "Yes, we can" and "We want licenses now." Why weren't these people slightly detoured and marched straight onto the deportation bus? They were advertising that they are here illegally and want licenses from us.

They failed to point out that the organizers picked the Fast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a day that many Hispanics around the world take off as a holiday ANYWAY!
As I told my wife, it reminds me of a day when I was going to school at MSU in Bozeman. They declared that on some arbitrary Wednesday everyone should wear denim to class to show support for gay rights. In Montana??? Sheesh denim is all people EVER wear in Southwest Montana -- even to their own weddings.

Morons. A license is a privilege not a right and illegal aliens have no right to be here in the first place. Its bad enough their demands for taxpayer provided public services knows no bounds and now they have the chutzpah to chatise us for saying "N0." If we had our druthers, we'd cut em off right now and throw them out but any attempt to ensure our laws are obeyed brings out the inevitable cries of being "anti-immigrant" and being driven by "racism." Never mind I'm a child of immigrants myself, there are some people who just have to jump to the front of the line based upon a misbegotten sense of entitlement. And the Democrats in the State Legislature deserve the blaming for unrealistically raising the expectations of all of these folks out there today.
