Now you went and did it; you got me tearing up again. What a gift Chris has given us here. And you guys are the furthest things from imaginary friends. You're almost better than my real friends. Where I live it's hard to find intelligent and informed people who are willing to listen to both sides. Too many lefites here. That's one of the things that Chris and I had in common, and talked about frequently. FreeRepublic gave Chris an immesurable amount of companionship and today he's returning it to us. God IS great!
To: katnip
My husband often makes fun of my addiction to Free Republic and calls you all my "imaginary friends". That's exactly what my roommate calls 'em. She roared when I read it to her.
Now she wants to know if there is a support group...
To: EggsAckley
I meant "too many lefties here in my hometown."
To: Dysart
"Yea, I thought better of it after hitting "post", but it wasn't intended to be derisive(or amusing)in any way. Actually, my point was that he seemed wiser than his 30/31 years, and many of my peers are quite liberal."
:) I saw your post and meant to copy you but I couldn't remember your screen name exactly. Or is that "eggsackley." :)
I understand--like I said a few posts ago, Chris is still freeping. He would love this (and I believe he is aware of it, too).
To: null and void
My mother says the SAME thing. She thinks my addiction is pathetic. However, I remind her that it's better than being on drugs or something.

Depression is that morning when it is just too far from the bed to the floor.
To: null and void
No, there's no support group. She has no choice but to join us.

Everybody's real as can be. I think most people who post here are genuine people.
I've even gone to a few Freeper rallies and saw them with my own 2 eyes just to make sure :=)

The sensitive soul is always at risk, maybe the risk is what makes it so sensitive.
"I'm still learning. But as long as I keep that tree watered and tended, the roots will continue to support it. Sorry if the metaphor seems trite, but it's the best I could come up with at this moment. 25 posted on 10/30/2003 6:08:13 PM PST by TrappedInLiberalHell
To: TrappedInLiberalHell Not trite at all- it's very "American". "
My condolences to his family.

Depression is like anger without enthusiasm....don't ya think?
To: TrappedInLiberalHell
Rest in peace young dear man. May you find the solace you sought now. Know that you touched the lives of so many who will not forget you. Your mark is left. Peace & comfort to those you have left behind.

Okay... I'm so glad you brought this up. I didn't want to mention the "evil eye" I've been getting from my husband. but since the topic has been raised, I'll admit: I am in a lot of trouble for being on the computer and for not having dinner prepared b/c of my computer time... blah blah blah!
Tell your husband that if Chris were an "imaginary friend," would we all still be freeping with him? I think not. :)
No... FR is a big place but friendships made here are real, and freepers being what they are, acquaintanceships are important too.
To: Fangorn
At any point you can just pull your face up, but you don't, and you don't want anyone else to either. Have you told anyone? Have you maybe tried anti-depressants?

Tried them, they are like cosmetics. They cover up that big ugly zit but you're still aware of it. Prozac does for your "drives" (all of them) what sugar in your tank does for gas mileage.

YES. It is exactly like that too. I remember instances of holding in my anger, just being really passive-aggressive and not doing anything constructive with my rage.

"FReepers never die. If I ever died, I'd be happy knowing I can come back and haunt Bill Clinton with erectile dysfunction."
ROFL.. Okay.. regarding the following:
"Freepers never die,"
how do we answer that?
They just... no, not "get a new Peterbilt" or whatever...
What might our FRiend Chris answer? :)
