Poor judgment on his part - I agree -

And that's all he's accused of, poor judgment. Serving in USG is not a right, it's a privilege. USG can impeach anybody it likes in a kangaroo court, because it's not real government. If it were, the government could/would be facing a civil lawsuit over this matter.

You can contort yourself in various ways to try to frame the question in order to make the so-called "conservatives" in this case look like the sole victims, but you can't do it persuasively. People wearing racially offensive party costumes to draw attention to injustice??? Please, that is straight out of the liberal handbood on victimology.

I find it hard to accept these idiots as conservatives at all. Conservatives don't party in blackface and kkk sheets. They don't post pictures of same on the Web. They don't cry victim and appeal to racially divisive politics when they're caught in the wrong.

If the repercussions of their offensive behaviour are out of proportion to the offense, then stand up and say so. But don't pretend 2 wrongs make a right. And don't pretend that any of this has anything to do with conservatism.

Sure, it's obvious that some blacks exploit the racial divide in America to nurture their own racism and discriminate themselves. And yes I hate that and am eager to see it disappear from our cultural landscape. But giving the racists among blacks ammunition like these idiots did hurts whites in the culture war and gives black racists power and influence.

I'm interested because I'm from Pennsy, attended PSU, and was in USG at one time. But mostly, because I don't like people dragging racism into this forum thinking this it's is a safe place for race hatred.

I have not said what he did was right or in good taste. Or that we should give racists on either side ammunition.

However, he is facing a racist institution.

Evidently a joke in poor taste is worthy of an impeachment investigation and deep thinking and comments in writing by the the President of the University - Spanier - but theft is not, depending on the color of one's skin and the racial sensitivity of the situation.

Two wrongs do not make a right - I agree - where is the investigation into Takeem Morgan? Where is the President's concern?

Two unequal systems of justice - one for protected victim class and one for everyone else - is not constructive and is not the solution to the problem. This case almost perfectly illustrates a race based double standard in practice at PSU.

It is a proper conservative position to oppose racism in all venues - not just white racism.

On previous notes I asked that we give these guys some guidance - not attack them. He has made a poor political joke - that is all. Just because he dressed in black face - the face of the person he was lampooning - why must it be seen as a "racist" attack? This was a personal thing - a lampoon of a person who defines himself and his power base by the color of his skin - that is Takeem's primary political attribute - self chosen. The only way this can be read as a problem is if someone takes as a given that blacks cannot be lampooned. Evidently that is our reflective response. That is racism, and that is wrong.

As you state - two wrongs do not make a right - so why is the "story" the joke in bad taste, and not the outrage of the presence of the thief on the USG? Racism. Institutionalized.
