My Underground High School Newspaper

[Right Stuff News]

I go to public school in Evanston, a place that is about as "conservative" as SF. There is a big protest mentality there; around the beginning of the Iraq war, the administrators excused students from their classes for "walking out" and marching against the war. I started a newspaper this year to show underclassmen that the rightist viewpoint is rational and not evil. Tell me what you guys think.

First of all, welcome to Free Republic (I see you registered tomorrow).
Good luck with your paper. When I was in high school, I was on the newspaper staff. I guess I was the token conservative, but at least the conservative view was getting out. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Consider adding links, such as to Free Republic, Lucianne, Drudge, National Review, American Spectator, etc., etc. Give them plenty to think about--they'll at least get the idea that there really are several of us conservatives after all, not just you....

Suggestion: Keep a digital video camera handy at all times.

Story after story of "conservatives" being attacked verbally, physically, etc. by leftist are rampant but no one has it on video.

Also, if they try and "steal" your paper, get it on tape. And if you get tape, swear out warrants and demand prosecution.

Re: "Also, if they try and "steal" your paper, get it on tape." The school doesn't allow me to set up a box for the paper. Using a video camera would be a good idea if I did have a box. I distribute the papers in the halls and by the entrances of the school when security guards aren't around. This week, some lefties ratted me out to some school bureaucrat who tried to censor me. I calmly stated my First Amendment rights and quoted from Tinker v. Des Moines.
