Conservative Republicans have blocked the bill since it was introduced in 2000, claiming it would sanction unconstitutional race-based preferences.This is a so unconstitutional but we certainly can't depend on the supremes to see it that way if it gets passed in Congress.

If this passes does it mean that native Hawaiians can have their own casinos like the federaly recognized Indian tribes? Imagine the revenue from a casino on Maui or Wakiki Beach.

Another Republican U.S. Senator has agreed to co-sponsor the Akaka bill that would give Native Hawaiians federal recognition.The federal government "recognized" me for more han I would like...Every April...They can have my "recognition" if they want it!!!!
