Tennessee Valley Authority officials say they are required to send out the safety information, and the calendar is a good way to try and keep it in front of people all year long. TVA spokesperson Carol Ayers says the map included in the calendar shows the area aurrounding Sequoyah divided up into sectors. Ayers says residents living in those sectors should know which one they are in so they can listen for specific instructions in case of an actual emergency. There is also contact information for Sequoyah, the state of Tennessee, and county authorities if people have questions. The bottom line for folks living in the ten miles surrounding the nuclear plant is know what to do, and when to do it. Calendars should be arriving in residents' mailboxes soon.
