That's a conservative version of a utopia. Unfortunately they don't exist. The fact that wealth IS created and HAS been created since the birth of this country only signifies that the GDP will also grow over time. It's only logical that as GDP fiscal spending also grows to match. I can't imagine as we create more spending power in this country that we aren't going to utilize it to further this country.

I agree. They don't exist. And this is why the government will continue to grow. Ideally, the more spending power we have should therefore allow us to cut programs and spur companies to provide some of the services the government once provided.

This is especially true if you're taxing away all the capital.
To be conservative, one has to have something to conserve.
What do you wish to conserve? For me, its my ability to be as self-sufficient as possible.
