[history]
Hoping to spend as much as it wants on next year's elections, the National Rifle Association is looking to buy a television or radio station and declare that it should be treated as a news organization, exempt from spending limits in the campaign finance law. "We're looking at bringing a court case that we're as legitimate a media outlet as Disney or Viacom or Time-Warner," the NRA's executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre, told the Associated Press.

Eric Mink?
Did we do our reseach for our article? Once again, the incredible and obvious misunderstanding of ANY thing to do with firearms is blatent.
"Tudor had apparently been dead for some time. A team of medical examiners had to pry a pre-World War II, Colt M-1911 A1 Government Model .45-caliber automatic pistol from his cold dead hand."
Last I looked, M-1911's are STILL semi-automatic weapons. But, go ahead and spin Eric, because "automatic" sounds so much more lethal and sexy!
Am I wrong or just feeling grumpy? It just galls me.......

And hypocritcal.
Thanks to CFR, Eric Mink will be able to put out as much propaganda as he wants 30 days before an election while the NRA will be muzzled. Bush should have vetoed CFR.

The newspaper is referred to as the St. Louis Post - Disgrace by locals.
To: Missouri
The author of this article has just done us a great favor.
In any suit suggesting that the NRA, which is pro-gun, somehow cannot claim to be a media source, they need only demonstrate the editorial stance of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. This article clearly demonstrates their anti-gun position.
Mr. Mink is an employee of and paid by the newspaper to write such articles. Mr. Mink is not a purchaser of advertising space.
Thank you, Mr. Mink.

Mr. Mink is an employee of and paid by the newspaper to write such articles. Mr. Mink is not a purchaser of advertising space.Mr. Mink doesn't care about fair play. He, like the rest of the staff at the Post-Disgrace is so blinded by this issue that they can't even have a debate about it. They are a sorry lot indeed.
Now the folks at the NRA had a back-up plan in case the SCOTUS ruled incorrectly on CFR (which is what happened). This idea of theirs not only could get their message out but also show how hypocritical the gun-grabbers are.

I've heard some locals call it the Post-Disgust, which is good, too.

Don't forget egomaniac McCain's role in dreaming this thing up in the first place.

I think the Minks of the world believe that the JBT's are going to protect them from the gun nuts. I guess he hasn't taken the time to do the math.

I guess he hasn't taken the time to do the math. Most likely not so much because they haven't taken the time, but because they can't do the math. It's not a subject were being a good BSer helps one bit, so this sort tends to shy away from it. That and a genetic defect that prevents them from adding or subtracting any numbers where the result would be larger than 20, or heaven forbid negative. They can deal with other addition and subtraction problems, as long as they are in a situtation where they can take off their shoes and socks.
