I would encourage anyone opposed to this to take advantage of the FREE fax capabilities offered by numbers USA. For those who can afford it please consider calling the numbers and leaving a message opposing any more amnesties.

If we give these folks Amnesty we may as well just open the borders entirely and let in any who come calling. No more rules about imigration .

Got through to the White House left message with a secretary saying I was concerned about Ridges comments and there should be no amnesty for illegal aliens no matter what their ethnic background. - Tom

Calm down - The House GOP was ready to reject the original 3.5 million Illegal Immigrant amnesty in August 2001, before 911 killed the bill.

Now Tancredo says he has enough votes in the House to block the much smaller 500,000 person amnesty bill, and Texas Gov Rick Perry told Vicente Fox in public that there wasn't enough support in Congress for the 500,000 person amnesty.

Also Sen John Kyl said that that bill for 500,000 Amnesties would not be brought up next year.

So if there no chance the House GOP will legalize 500,000 Illegal Immigrants then is NO WAY they will legalize every illegal immigrant in the country.

Ridge wasn't even proposing a specific bill in Congress, he was just saying "in his opinion" he would like to see all illegal immigrants "legalized" ie Ridge was talking out of his ass (As usual).

I think Tom Ridge has the right idea.

This War on Illegal Aliens is unwinnable, saps the strength of our forces to pursue truly dangerous people, and distracts us from the global War on Terror.

Ridge would be doing us a favor to have us just open the borders and be done with it.

Shalom.

The most important thing is shoot this trial balloon down as fast as possible.

How many of these balloons do we have to keep popping? There are things about this administration that can be supported, but they have to know by now hardly anyone agrees with giving illegal aliens amnesty, yet they keep suggesting it. Enough already.

Of course they (the illegals) need to be legalized and documented. The Government can, and does, show compelling need to have a record of who is supposed to be here and who isn't.

We cannot very well create a media spectacle of Federal goon squads gathering up suspected illegals and deporting them en masse, it would look to much like Hitler's Germany.

Like it or not legalization may be the only course of action open.

Illegal immigration is NOT going to be solved by another round of mewing, cowardly politicians crawling up their own rectal cavities, anointing more migrant lawbreakers with legal status, and paying lip service to what 'should be done'.

Somebody give Tom Tancredo a club and send him over to Ridge's office. Maybe he'll get the point across.

Ridge has thrown in the towel on law enforcement and says nothing can be done about illegal aliens. In fact, Congress has passed a major law each of the last two years to deal with this problem. These laws have not yet been implemented.

Okay I will bite? What are these laws and how much has congress authorised to spend to implement them? If you are talking about troops on the border you're full of shit. We dont have enough troops now to rotate our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Korea. What do you want to do give the Dems a reason to reinstitute the draft and blame it on Bush?

And what impact is it going to have on morale to stick our troops another desert but this time give them orders not to fire on anyone unless fired upon. Armies are created to kill people and destroy property not guard borders.

The terrorists must be laughing their heads of at the statements of their man Ridge.

Of course deporting illegals is workable. Instead of having our soldiers die overseas we should have them posted on our borders.

Illegal aliens are criminals. If the people in other countries choose to over-breed, this does not mean we have to take in their surplus and their deviants.

He said one of these, which would require all illegal immigrants to leave the country before applying for residency, is 'not workable.' "

Oh? Well then, our republic is "not workable," except as a plaything for members of what Bob Novak called "the bipartisan political class" during the Clinton impeachment.

There is an unfathomable arrogance in remarks like these from government officials who allowed the immigration laws---passed don't forget by elected representatives of the people---to go unenforced for so long, and then proclaim that it's in effect "too late" to undo the damage their lack of enforcement did, or to enforce the law finally.

Not the way to preserve people's faith in their government, guys. And ultimately, not the way to keep civil peace, either.

Please send faxes, phone, and write letters. It can make a difference. Also contact Bill O'Reilly, various talks shows.

The government is supposed to enforce laws, not give perks to criminals.

There is no reason to want to keep illegals in this country and encourage more to come. Those who support amnesty for illegals:
1. have vested interests in cheap labor
2. are bribed or blackmailed
3. hate this country
4. prefer a Third World lifestyle
5. are terrorists, drug dealers or other criminals
6. are mentally ill or delusional

I tried to call the White House, but the comment line was closed. I'll call tomorrow morning. The fax lines there must be burning up, because my fax wouldn't go through either. Tomorrow. They must be made aware that America is outraged.
