Gotta love the scare quotes AFP puts around "terrorism".

Still, the people in this story that I give the most credit to are the 100 who protested in Ramadi. That took some guts, considering the sympathies of that town.

Ah, scare quotes.

It's like when they reported the US army firing on an "alleged militant". Why didnt they add that the "alleged US army unit allegedly fired on an alleged militant".

Next time I will demand the so-called "press" reports fairly on the "anti-war" pro-terrorist protestors, and their "peaceful" protests.

Should have arrested all 70 Islamofascist demonstrators. If you THROW ROCKS, it ain't no protest, it's an assault.

I wouldn't have condoned gunning them all down, but I would have arrested them and "questioned" them until I found leads to more insurgents.

"We will not allow the fascists to come back," added Farook al-Shamari, 63."

May it be so, for the sake of Iraq - and the rest of the world.

"This is the national campaign against terrorism and sabotage," said Abo Thaer, 55, a member of the Iraqi Communist Party. His party members turned out with giant red flags bearing the hammer and sickle.

Participants Wednesday said the rallies marked International Human Rights Day.

God Bless em, but BOY, do we need to get some HISTORY books into that country and FAST!!!

200? Try 10,000 in Baghdad, even Al Jeezera is claiming 10,000 so it was probably a lot more. You can see the courage building in those people who have been held down so long.

On one of the Iraqi bloggers sites there are dozens of pictures of this protest. You see smiling faces everywhere and some of the most clever signs you've ever seen. Some of them jeering Al Jeezera and Al Arabia. Good people finding out what freedom really means.

Gotta love the scare quotes AFP puts around "terrorism".

Leave it to a French news agency to have the discretion to not be
judgemental about the current labor of love by Saddam's "freedom fighters".
(end sarcasm)

If the French keep reporting those equivocating headlines, I say don't just
shut them out of the current bid process for reconstructing Iraq...
send 'em a freaking bill at about $10,000,000 per each Coalition life lost.
