My thoughts, and I'll admit, a certain amount of phlegm and bile.

Instead, these guys sneer at us with contempt because it feels good to gratuitously insult.

I've always thought that bullying behavior was over-compensation for some VERY deep seated insecurity. Some people are only able to feel good about themselves by tearing others down.

Luckily, we have the power to control whether they achieve their objective or not.

Would you like a slice of lime with your phlegm-and-bile??

~</;o)

Just kidding, of course. Dean makes my stomache churn too.
Nice rant.

Not many who wish to be humble servants can be found anywhere....

Our savior and God (whose birth we celebrate this season)came to earth born in a humble stable..to working class parents.. ( stay at home mom and carpenter)

God (the Father) could have chosen any parents on earth...the educated..the wealthy..the powerfull...

God must know something about power and arrogance...we don't...

America was founded by such humble working class farmers..and tradesmen....and a patrician class that humbled itself..to serve..and lead by example...(rather than arrogantly rule over...
and tell us "character" doesn't count...)

A patrician class that in many cases gave up its wealth to the cause of Revolution and freedom
of all classes of Americans..is an American curiosity...lost on the likes of our present day aristocracy..
imo

There is an interesting comparison between Gore and Dean. Consider their wives! Only two presidential wives over the past 70 years have been reviled by most true Americans, Eleanor Roosevelt and Hillie. Most others have been perceived neutrally, with some, Barbara Bush Ladybird Jphnson, attaining some degree of personal stature.

Tipper Gore has been visable and, in general, performed well. She attacked the pornographers of Hollywood's neocommunist elite, for example. But, where is Dean's wife? What is she hiding? Does Gore know that he loses nothing by backing Dean because Dean can not win the nomination because of his wife and that will allow Gore to step in?

Gore has avoided being one of the dwarfs. He has remained aloof. What better way to get in than to get rid of ALL the other dwarfs and then, get rid of the one he's allowed to lead? Where is Dean's wife and why is he ashamed of her?

Algore endorsed Dean because he believes Dean will be nominatied and maybe Dean will ask Algore to be his running mate.

Good phlegm and bile actually. Dean and Gore make my tummy churn too. Dean in fact, is Bill Clinton as far as morals go, hide and watch. I can feel it in my gut.

I think another aspect to this idea is that they are trying to 'fit-in' and be a part of the hip, cool, elite cliques. I think the problem with many, many of these people is that they still have the mentality of high school sophomores.

Gore is the kid in the front row apple polishing and showing off his fact checking brain to the teacher; frustrating the teacher and making the other kids despise him.

Dean is the wannabe jock cool guy hero type who skies, instead of proving himself on the battlefield. He is the abrasive kid who constantly picks fights but can't meet his opponent because Dean has a 2:00 dental appointment.

Kerry is the dork second stringer who really wants to do more than warm the bench. He wants to be hip, but is too gangly, gawky and scary to appeal to the cool chicks. He wants to smoke dope and do all of the wild things - like Gore - but both Gore/Kerry are afraid of getting a bad mark from the teacher.

Billy boy is the bullying stud who challenges anyone who threatens his stable of cheerleaders.

Hillary is the ugly duckling, more arrogant, smarter than Billy-boy but not pretty enough to be one of his cheerleaders. She does the physical makeover (and continues to do them - very telling). She wants control over the cheerleaders, the snobs, the jocks and everyone else who overlooked her and all that she believes she has to offer.

Is it just me or is there anyone else here who can't stand the sound of Al Gore's voice? He sounds like a comedy act - an intentional parody of condescending smugness - clueless and vapid. And that accent - sheeeesh! If I thought I'd have to listen to that for four years I'd shoot myself!

For future reference, the Marquis' name is spelled "de Sade". And his books are fascinating and not at all what you would expect, given modern "Sade-ist" (aka sadist) culture. Pronunciation is "deh SAHD".

In "Legacy", Rich Lowry agrees with you, and makes the following statement about the Clinton crowd. In the second paragraph on page 11, he says (as well as quoting others) .. "This elite didn't just feel a call to run the country, it felt it deserved to run the country. 'They think of themselves as entitled to power in a way their antecedents never did,' Weisberg writes. 'The Clinton circle has a prounounced class consciousness that tells them they're not just lucky to be here. They're running things because they're the best.' How could anyone reject the leadership of a group of people so intelligent and famously 'conscience stricken'? In the Clintons, this sense of entitlement produced a deep anger at the fact that their ambitions encountered resistance."

While Rich was primarily talking about the Clinton bunch, I certainly would include Dean and Gore in that group.

When President Bush says, "I'm honored to be", he really means it. The democrats are not honored to be anything .. they believe they deserve to be there because they are smarter than we are and they know better what we need.
