Okay Freepers, it is time to get a leg up on TIME and make your nominations for Free Republic's Man of The Year.
The criteria is simple: The one person who has had the most significant impact on the world at large, for better or for worse, during the past year.
Nominations for both men and women are acceptable.

I agree with both of you.
Nobody even comes in as close second to President Bush.
On the other hand, TIME will probably consider Saddam, as they were considering Bin Laden for 2001!

That's a given but it's tough, Rumsfeld and Rice come in second.
(Powell is not on my list, but we may find in later years
that he has played a great part in all this.

Bill and Hillary Clinton.
If it wasn't for them, the stark contrast of a great leader like George Bush might not be as glaring. They helped pave the way...and continue to do so.
