PA Sermon: No one can deny right of return
IMRA ^ | December 9, 2003 | FBIS (US Government service)

Posted on 12/09/2003 11:07:12 AM PST by yonif

Ramallah Voice of Palestine, official radio station of the Palestinian Authority, carries at 0935 GMT 5 December 2003 a live sermon from Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Shaykh Isma'il Nawahidah delivers the sermon, which he devotes to the lesson of patience in times of affliction, as experienced by the prophets.

In the second sermon, the imam says: "Here is the land of the night journey and ascension to the heavens headed by Holy Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque still witnessing sorrowful incidents represented by plundering, pillaging, shedding of innocent blood, deportation of people, and siege of towns and villages. It has also become a field for rivalry about the negotiation on its territory. They are thus throwing all religions constants and historical rights overboard." He adds: "Until recently, that is until the demise of the Islamic Caliphate, no one dared speak about conceding a single inch of its territory. Why? Because everyone knew that this land is a religious endowment under a heavenly decision."

The imam continues: "O steadfast, no one can deprive a single person who was raised on this land of the right to return to it. No one also can ignore the right of more than one billion Muslims to this blessed land, Holy Jerusalem, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the two qiblas and third holiest mosque."

The imam concludes with a prayer to God to support Islam and Muslims and elevate the word of justice and religion. He also prays to God to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque from every evil.

Having "the right," if such does in fact exist in the first place, is not equivalent to being able to exercise "the right" and continue breathing.....

the right of more than one billion Muslims to this blessed land, Holy Jerusalem

This goes way beyond the previous notion of "right of return."

I hereby deny the "palestinian" right of return on the basis of the following:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism." --- PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein on March 31, 1977

Yes, but I kind of like it.

The one billion Muslims should get Israel and Palestine. It will be a little tight, but Allah praises those who sacrifice.

The Israelis get any piece of formerly Muslim land they want. Yeah, yeah, I know that sliver on the Mediterranean is your "Holy land" but God will forgive a good trade. You could take Iraq and Kuwait, for example. The land is still good, and it does have oil. Plus, it's a lot less crowded, and you'll have nicer neighbors.

And who will those neighbors be? Since there's a lot of Muslim land to split up, we'll divvy it up between those who know how to use it best. Poland, Latvia, Australia, come get your share! We'll take a healthy chunk of Saudi Arabia, and lease Egypt over to a tourism company.

To help the new Muslim state maintain its purity, we'll help build a big wall around it. That way, none of our corrupting western influences will get in. They'll appreciate that!

Voila! Mideast peace.
