What kids today have missed.Indeed.
Our kids look at my wife and I like we're nuts when we pop a Parliament CD in and start singing along loudly with maniacial grins on our faces...

They're probably shocked there's no profanity in it. One thing you can say about George Clinton, Parliment, and Bootsy Collins, they never tried to offend anybody-they just wanted to party and have a good time. 'P Funk 'is one of my all-time favorites, right up there with 'Flashlight' and 'Aquaboogie'.

They just don't realize that music could be
fun. Not that we didn't hear negativity sometimes, but all that spine shaking stuff they got out now is so depressing.
(As an aside, all of a sudden Chic runs through my brain. Nobody would ever accuse them of award winning lyrics, but how I loved Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers when they had those instrumental jams. Edwards was a heck of a bass player, in my book).
