Goofy, I know, but I think you'd better check your facts before challenging George.

Do not be so quick to assume that I don't do my homework. Try Googling the phrase "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
You'll find that 30% of the cites give it to Lao-Tse. 60% give it to Chairman Mao. And the remaining 10% give it to Confucius, or to an "unmaned oriental philosopher" (the last refuge of lazy writers).
I don't have a copy of Mao's Little Red Book. But if that phrase appears in there, the Op Research of the GOP will hang that quote around Dean's neck like a big red albatross. Feel free to duplicate my research.
Like I said, George Will missed the metaphorical bus on this one. LOL.

Has Doctor Dean performed abortions?
Howard Dean served on the board of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England for five years.
...
As a medical student Dean did his OB-GYN rotation at a Planned Parenthood clinic, as governor [oh and by the way, Dean sealed his gubernatorial records upon leaving office for the period of 10 years he had requested 20 - curious?] he made changes in state law that caused all family planning to be contracted through Planned Parenthoods abortion mill.

I think Mao copied 'Lao' on this one.

Great observation. . .they have created their own worst reality.

I very much believe that states ought to have the right to recognize -- to organize their own laws. So I'm not likely as president ... to order states to change them." I never realized that the man was that damn dumb.

The thing about Dean, that Will missed, is not his lack of intelligence, it is instead his lazy behavior, his lack of order, his sloppy behavior, which leads to his irrational anger... if Dean simply was organized in thought and debate he'd wouldn't seem like such a creep, fortunately for us people in Washington are elitist and they all think alike. Will thinks Dean is lacking in smarts, Dean (thinking on the same wave length) will beef up on books... rather than getting organized. Why people in Washington rule the world is beyond me.

Has Doctor Dean performed abortions? Watch for the lamestreamers to acknowledge that question only long enough to say either a) it's nobody's business (although they kept up the circus surrounding accusations of cocaine use by GWB during the 2000 campaign), b) it doesn't make any difference, or c) only the extreme right-wing cares.

"(He) had read much, and although he generally forgot what he read, there were left with him from his reading certain nebulous lights, begotten by other men's thinking, which enabled him to talk on most subjects. It cannot be said of him that he did much thinking for himself -- but he thought that he thought." Dean seems like that, which is not surprising or disqualifying: Most political leaders are not people of reflection, but of ambition-dictated action, living off borrowed intellectual capital. Given the accumulating evidence, the professors' pin-up should dismount his intellectual high horse.
Thank you, Nutmeg, for pinging me to this well-written, insightful article. I cannot believe that certain liberal friends of mine don't see through this guy.
