Your facts are correct, but I do think it is okay to celebrate Jesus birth if you want to. Most Christians have nativity scenes as well as Christmas trees.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS" Wow, let me say it again "MERRY CHRISTMAS" Happy Holidays are nice but CHRISTMAS is where it is at...The whining liberals and their Politically correct beliefs have really pissed off a lot of people this season. Traditions are part of American culture...And I will defend that tradition...If you don't believe in Christmas or its tradition shut up or leave.

Everyone who goes around with "Merry Christmas" on their lips should be boiled in their own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through their heart. Right?

Bah Humbug!! What's Christmas time to you but a time for paying bills without money; a time for finding yourself a year older, but not an hour richer; a time for balancing your books and having every item in 'em through a round dozen of months presented dead against you?

Hey, it's Tiny Vertically-Challenged Tim! These days, differently-abled Tim and the rest of the Cratchits don't rely on AppyScrooge to learn the true meaning of Christmas - they apply for foodstamps and cash assistance, and push hard for a single-payer national health-care system, so that Vertically-Challenged Tim can get "free" treatment. And the best part is, AppyScrooge pays for the wad, whether he likes it or not ;)

Oh please, Diego... First you start off with the usual you have the right to yada yada and I have the right to yada yada, which is all well and good. Then you proceed, as usually follows these statements, to high and mightily tell us all to "just don't try and put Christ into it". Thank you very much, but I'll take the first part of your advice and do as I'll please and keep Christ exaclty where I want to.

Keep Christ in Christmas.
Why? Christ was born in the spring. This festival has never had anything to do with Christ. It's not in the New Testament. It's a winter holiday that has been totaly commercialized. It's quite silly actually.
Now Thanksgiving. THIS is a holliday worth keeping. Fourth of July. Another great one. Easter. Fantastic. You can have Christmas.

Dumb post, mercy. The feast celebrates the FACT of Christ's birth, whatever day that birth might actually have taken place on. Just like the Brits celebrate the Queen's birth, on an appointed day that doesn't happen to be her real birthday. I suspect you're smart enough to understand this, but maybe not. Anyway, Christ should be kept in Christmas because the day has been set aside to celebrate him and his birth. Duh.
To: churchillbuff
Sorry. I've been around for fifty three years, grew up in a very ordinary middle class household in Kansas and I have never seen much of Christ in Christmas. I really can't stand 'the hollidays' and find them an extreme anoyance. It's a whole lot of BS. Period.
