Thanks for posting the first-hand report. How wonderful! It's like being there.
Hillary Clinton is coming here tomorrow. For her sake I hope I dont see her. I might do something crazy like spit in her direction.
LOL!!

Crazy how my little note made it up here...wonder who ratted me out! My sincere apologies if you didn't want this posted. But as you can tell by the responses on this thread your thoughts made an enormous impact with a lot of people, myself included. Darn. This is a good read and agrees with the few others who wrote about their experiences of having Thanksgiving with President Bush. However, when are we going to hear from those who were with Hillary, those troops that were "glad to see myself," or whatever it was she said, in Afghanistan or the following day in Iraq. When are we going to get to read one of THEIR stories? Have they been sworn to secrecy?
I'd also like to know what that soldier asked her. "I couldn't lie to that young man." That one.

Has Hillary ever said the words "God Bless America"?

Thank you so much for posting this... and glad to know that monie8401 is one of us.
This first hand account is wonderful. I was on the road when I heard of the President's visit and couldn't wait to get to my destination to see it on TV.
God Bless our President and God Bless our troops!

Great letter! Thank you for sharing your experiences. (Have you washed your hand yet or are you having it bronzed? LOL)

I'm glad someone "ratted you out". Those of us who are far removed from what is happening in Iraq, and over-exposed to the American media need to see reports like this.

Thank you for this written account of your experience. It means a lot to hear it from those who were actually there.

Thanks! That moment made everything else more than worth it. I almost don't mind the bi-weekly Chicken Kiev anymore...almost.
