One reason for the socialists' success corrupting education is we "the public" have been trained to believe that state schools are "our" schools. It's true we pay for them with our taxes, but they no more belong to us than the post office belongs to us. Imagine having bake sales and fundraisers for the post office -- ridiculous, insn't it? Yet we give offerings to state schools all the time, because they're "for the children." But they aren't; they're for the state.

Because of this and so much more, our family has declined the government's "free" school lunch and home educates instead.
