I'll pay for bus fare. And for a couple sandwiches to eat on the way, too.

Gag!
Scott's probably thinking, "And I am even being portrayed in a MOVIE! I'm famous! They MUST like me a little..."
That's how such people think, IMO.
To: Devil_Anse
Can you imagine the sound guy , after the interview, picking up a message from a kidnapped Laci, saying she is at the bus station in Fresno? That she managed to escape her kidnappers and if Scott hurries, he can pick her up before they track her there?
But then, he knew there would never be such a message.
"They haven't got anything on me." Ha!

So you think Geragos DEMANDED that Scott get veto power over the casting of his character?
He'll probably send some notes to Dean written in pencil on yellow paper.... Telling him just how to speak and behave, thus revealing all of his tricks! (Did I sound like Vincini just now?)

Isn't that wild? I hope Dean Cain will be able to capture the "smirk".

What a circus it is, eh, pinz?
I just can't get excited about the movies they're rushing to make about this case, and about the Elizabeth Smart case.
In the olden days (assuming Gabby Hayes voice), they usually didn't make movies about contemporaneous events. I liked that better. I mean, I might need someone to tell me the story of Napoleon, and a good movie is just the ticket. But I don't NEED anyone to tell me about THIS sorry scumbag! I see the real thing on TV!
To: Velveeta
I knew that throwing in the sandwiches would be a clincher. lol

How on earth can they make a movie before the trial even starts?
If he's found guilty, it will be a bummer, and who cares? If he manages to walk, the Geragos character would be the lead, not Scott. Amber may play a huge role, as has been tossed about here the last few days.
In any case, is Dean prepared to sit around waiting to see how this works out, and willing to commit in a movie without seeing how the story, not to mention the script comes together?
I can't imagine getting involved in this tragedy for recreation. This is torment, made bearable only by a group of intelligent, knowledgeable, mostly polite (and might I add very funny) Freepers.
I'd hate to stake my career to the ratings such a movie would get.

LOL, you're probably right! Snotty thinks he's a star.....second to Michael Jackson.

This is all I could find:
"Dee Wallace-Stone, best known for her role in Steven Spielberg 's "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," will play Laci's mother, Sharon Rocha. Tim Quill, who was featured in Steven Bochco's pilot for Fox's "NYPD 2069," will play Laci's brother Brent. David Denman, who will next be seen in the features "The Big Fish" and "The Singing Detective," will play Tommy Vignatti, a close friend of both Laci and Scott."

I wonder if they could find someone hideous enough to play Jackie (although they can work miracles with make-up/latex)..skilled enough to portray her Wacky personality.

Thanks, Vel and All, for your posts! I'm trying to keep up!

Wow! GREAT casting! Hope he's got the swagger down, too! Who are they getting for Laci? She's GOT TO have those dimples... they will never find a good duplicate.

Oh, you bet he is happy about the movie. I bet he would ask to be a "consultant." Indeed, maybe the cops could find out some more evidence if they'd let him! "No, that's not how I did it. First you have to grab her head like this..."
