John Kerry is as much of a war hero as Scott Ritter.

He also has just as much integrity...

I see.

John Kerry (D) drops the F-bomb in a Rolling Stone interview in an attempt to boost his popularity.

Steve Largent (R), lets slip the BS-word in a taped television interview, and it possibly costs him the governship in 2002.

Largent Takes the 'Bull' by the Horns

Largent Takes the 'Bull' by the Horns

by NewsMax Intern Jackie Hickman
Thursday Oct. 17, 2002
Oklahoma Congressman turned Republican gubernatorial nominee Steve Largent blurted out an obscenity during a taped television interview that aired Sunday night, referring to an interviewer's questions as "bull---t."

The incident occurred when KOKH-TV anchorman Andrew Speno questioned the one-time football star about his whereabouts on Sept. 11, 2001. Largent was hunting in Idaho at the time and didn't learn of the attacks until two days afterwards.

However, while he was in the woods, his staff released a statement with Largent's reaction even though they hadn't been in touch with him.

Speno also pressed the former congressman on where he was during the last two airings of the State of the Union addresses.

That's when Largent got hot under the collar.

"This is nonsense the stuff you're asking about," he complained. "It really is. It's not consequential to this election at all. ... That's not policy, that's bull---t, all this stuff about where were you on 9/11."

Largent's political opponents were quick to jump on the episode. Independent candidate for governor Gary Richardson hit the air with a TV commercial that plays the bleeped comment not once, but twice. In the spot, Richardson tells viewers that the state of Oklahoma needs a governor who will show more respect.

Meanwhile, Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Brad Henry claims he's received over 100 phone calls from people who were upset by hearing the vulgarism.

On Monday, the GOP'er apologized for his remarks. "I felt like it was an unprofessional and undignified interview. I lowered myself and gave an unprofessional and undignified response, and I regret that."

Jackie Hickman is a student at St. Joseph's by-the-Sea High School in Staten Island, N.Y.

Yeah, he found a loophole to get out of having to answer that pesky little question, didn't he?

Oh, but of course.

I believe he actually threw away somebody else's medals. He kept his just in case the military became popular again.

As was said elsewhere, nothing is beneath John F. Kerry.

Yes, I agree and...I think Kerry is finished big time. I wish some other War Veteran Medal recipient who was also wounded in battle would come out and denounce Kerry. He isn't the ONLY American who gave his/her blood in a war for this country, but Kerry is the only one who constantly reminds us of his military decorations.

He never says anything about Clinton avoiding the draft during the Vietnam war. At least Bush was in the Air National Guard. And, TALK ABOUT F....'ING UP A WAR.....Presidents Kennedy and Johnson really did it in Vietnam. We lost over 50,000 men and women in a war which the democrats didn't really try to win. It took a republican President to get us out of it. Someone should stand tall for a change and really call Kerry on his crude remarks.

Now, having said that, Kerry has the right in this country to say what he thinks because he is an American citizen like over 250 million other American citizens.....NOT because he is a Silver Star recipient. When he plays up his Vietnam service and decorations all the time its like saying ONLY HE has a right to say anything and that it should be taken as the final word. WRONG!!!! What an arrogant and ugly person he is inside to blatantly attack President Bush in such a classless, foul mouthed manner as he did.

President Kerry? I don't think so!!!

In the past few days, Dean has openly entertained wild conspiracy theories about 9/11, Kerry has used the "F" word in an interview, and the mainstream media have largely ignored these statements. But can you imagine the media feeding frenzy if Republicans had said similar things? If you doubt that, just consider the flap about the Thanksgiving turkey in Iraq.

To complete my thought, people like Molly Ivins will now chide the White House for its prissiness over Kerry's language, e.g., "Of course, we all know the "f" word has never escaped the lips of anyone in the White House."

I'm sick of kerry bragging about being a decorated combat vet. Is he really deserving of his medals, or was he just another rich boy pulling strings? Has anybody investigated the real story on kerry's service record?

The White House response: "Only a major-league a**hole would use the word 'f***.'"

The only difference between Kerry and kennedy is that atleast we know that Kennedy is a good swimmer.

" They just don't care about military service; that horse left the barn when Clinton was elected."

I do care about our military, just in case I gave the wrong impression. I'm very thankful for our military. Kerry trivializes honest service every time he opens his mouth and uses it for vainglory.

"It's supposed to make the WH critics look like prudes and it expresses Kerry's bona fides vis-a-vis the Dean crowd."

Your absolutely right! If the WH continues to make this an issue, Kerry's going to call them on it and who knows, perhaps he would even go as far as using more potty mouth words to describe Bush. The liberals would eat it up.

Yes, I know.

My response was tongue-in-cheek to TN4Liberty' query in post #5. Perhaps you'd like to also inform him?

I am confused about the value or radioactivity associated with profanity. Since this is a family-oriented website and I respect others' opinions that children cannot handle bad words, I will employ the useful asterisk (*) as a substitue for missing letters.

During the campaign, Bush pointed out a reporter as "a major-league a**hole."

According to a magazine article written by conservative Tucker Carlson, Bush has also said:

"If you're going to f**k me," Bush said, "you'll have to kiss me first."

"They think it's like a high school election, where if you beat up your opponent enough you can win. They've lost their f**king minds."

Bush doesn't even wait for me to finish the question. "I don't care. I really don't care. Does anyone ever say 'F**k you'? I don't care if they do," he barks.

The real profanity is in Iraq. Or in the faux-pious reactions from the White House. It's too bad Hypocrisy can't just be a Greek philosopher and we could all finally relax and talk about important political stuff.
