"I am the one responsible for providing this information," said the colonel, who is now working as an adviser to Iraq's Governing Council.

No apparent conflicts of interest here......he must be a credible source.

Regards

Chemical or biological. There ARE chemical weapons such as nerve gas that are extremely potent, and could be carried in a fairly small warhead. A tiny drop on bare skin would be enough to kill someone.

This is the Davy Crockett nuclear bazooka fielded in West Germany from 1961-1971. That was a long time ago. Not saying that Saddams "secret weapons" were nukes but you never know.

This guy must know what happened to the stuff. Wonder if they can squeeze it out of him.

How far out does an RPG launch? 300-800 yards?

That's awfully close to be deploying chemical weapons and/or biologics.

That concerns me and makes me think this is bogus.

Maybe, however, the soldiers themselves knew that was too close to use this kind of weapon, and they weren't used due to the american military's ability to close quickly and consequent iraqi fear that such weapons would kill themselves.

I suppose Saddam could deploy a sort of 'suicide squad' to use the weapons. If they were to be a 'weapon of last resort' to defend the homeland, personal sacrifice would have been expected.

Hardly,

Anthrax can be easily generated in mobile labs. It is dispersed via spores (the processing of these spores could be done in dual use facilities). Smallpox virus aerosilized via the explosion of the warhead would be extremely effective as a killing machine over a few weeks time. Then of course, there is tularemia, bubonic plague, and several other nasties which could be produced in dual use facilities (alleged "vaccine" factories) all of which could be used as bioweapons. Trust me.

(If you choose not to trust me, then take a look at these two books: "Biohazard" by Ken Alibek - he was head scientist in charge of the Soviet Union's bioweapons effort; and, "The Demon In The Freezer" by Richard Preston -- he also wrote, "The Hot Zone." Both of these are scientifically sound and sufficiently, and quite interestingly, revealing regarding the threat level bioweapons pose.)

I defer to your knowledge. I still doesn't seem logical to me that a country would use biological weapons within its own borders. But what do I know?

This is great news! Thanks for postingi it.I've felt for sometime now that most,if not all, of Iraq's WMD's were still in Iraq. From everything that I've read, Saddam didn't believe that we would actually invade Iraq. And since he didn't, he wouldn't have had time to get rid of all of his stuff.IMHO.

We convinced somebody with our verbage, because in fact Iraq would have been iradiated as a result of any release of WMD's. I have no doubt that they still do exist somewhere and remember this. We were tracking three cargo ships loaded with who knows what and then all of a sudden no more reports of their where abouts. The WMD's exist and they are burried somewhere or they are on the move on the high seas. We are owed a explanation that is still not forthcoming!

Good read, thanks for the post.

Like I always said, the WMD's are there, it's just a matter of time before we find them. We also know that some of them were transferred to Syria, and soon Syria will have to account for them too. This does also explain the gas masks found in the battlefield.

Small, easy to conceal, lots of them still out there, and the bad guys know where they are.

And that's what I'm still afraid of. Pray for our troops, and may GOD be with them.

This guy must know what happened to the stuff

Not necessarily, according to the report he was recalled to air defense headquarters in Baghdad when the war started. The stuff could have been buried in his absence.

This is big news.

Actually made it onto NBC Nightly News (Sat. 12-6-03).
IMHO, the weekend editions of NBC Nightly News have been pretty fair-and-balanced
on Iraq theater coverage.
