Why don't the conservatives start a movement to put Reagan on the Dollar coin. That way it will surely start catching on with the public to use a dollar coin....How about a freeper movement to start it?

FDR is the modern Democrats founding father, so to speak. Hell will freeze over before they let that icon be replaced. In my estimation, FDR was the father of the nanny state. Reagan's vision was to neuter that nanny state, allowing private enterprise to take back it's rightful role.

I would be only too fitting for Reagan to usurp FDR's place on the dime.

I'd hate to see a Reagan dollar fail.

Nancy Reagan is against replacing FDR on the dime. I don't see FDR as the Democrat's God or whatever, I see him as the leader of our country during WWII. Give Reagan another coin.

This doesn't make much sense to me. Seems like a lot of wasted energy on the part of these folks.
Reagan deserves much better than a dime.

Agreed

I'd like to see Lincoln on one side of the $5, and Reagan on the other side.

I want a $250 or $500 bill with Reagan. There once was a $500 bill, but it was retired long ago. The highest denomination bill still in circulation today is the $100. This was done to make the return-on-investment for counterfeiters and money-launderers less efficient.
I like what another poster said: put Reagan on a full-sized silver dollar; the way Ike used to be featured. Enough of these quasi-quarter "silver dollars." They're useless.
But I have to admit, the thought of seeing Reagan's face on a dime still brings me a smile...

Dollar coins have not caught on yet.Put Reagan on a silver dollar of traditional size, not those little ones made out of recycled Toyotas and spinach cans.

Why don't the conservatives start a movement to put Reagan on the Dollar coin. Since the last two attempts at dollar coins have not faired well, I would have to disagree.
However the one bill that has not been changed as of yet is the One Dollar Bill, that is where I would place Ronald Reagan, the most used bill in the world!
I would also change the back with this suggestion http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3942c9192a39.htm putting a abbreviated version of the US constitution on the back!

All presidents should be removed from coins. Most coins US used to have allegorical figures on them. Now they mostly have dead presidents. Ronald Reagan is still alive! If he were put on a coin while still alive that would set a precident for putting live people on US coinage. If taken a little further, in the future we could have a live sitting US president on a US coins - just like the Imperial Roman coinage with whoever was the current emperor on the coins.

"Reagan deserves much better than a dime."
The low denomination denotes greater circulation; ergo, it is the greater tribute to be on a lower-value coin. That is why the great Lincoln found homes on the penny and the $5. But I would not favor removing FDR from the dime. It has achieved some tradition. And I do not worship at the FDR altar.

Actually, I believe the $100 bill is the most used in the world.

Let me see. Which is the most worthy President to go on our coinage?
1. A President who violated George Washington's tradition of two terms, tried to pack the Supreme Court, confiscated gold from every American at $20/oz then revalued it at $33/oz, introduced socialism and the welfate state en mass in America, subverted the Constitution at every opportunity, allowed Communists at all levels of our government (including his closest advisors) and thought Stalin was one of the greatest statesmen in history
or
2. A President who presided over the gratest economic boom in history, ended the cold war by defeating the Soviet Union without firing a shot, and made Americans proud to hold their heads high again
I'll pick #2!
