SANTA BARBARA, California (CNN) -- Former Santa Barbara Sheriff Jim Thomas said there is a second child who claimed in 1993 that Michael Jackson molested him. Those accusations were audiotaped but not videotaped, the sheriff said.

Jackson defense attorney Mark Geragos did not return several phone calls seeking comment about the second alleged victim from 1993, but a source close to the defense told CNN he believes the defense is aware of such claims.

Charges were never filed in 1993 after the first alleged victim dropped out of any criminal proceedings when his family settled with Jackson --- reportedly for millions of dollars.

Thomas, who conducted the decade-old investigation into molestation charges in cooperation with Los Angeles police, told CNN on Thursday the second accuser in 1993, a boy aged 9 or 10 at the time, decided he was too "ashamed" to testify against Jackson, and didn't want his friends to know. The parents also did not want the boy or themselves subjected to a "take no prisoners" defense, Thomas said.

"The child did not want to testify, and we can't force a child to testify, so that never went forward," he said.

A source close to the current prosecution confirmed to CNN there was a second alleged victim in 1993.

No wonder Geragos was making threats -- the ton of bricks falling on you sure sounded like a physical threat -- that would intimidate victims. Geragos comes across more like a mob enforcer than a lawyer. Marching orders from Melnik perhaps?

The other day talking heads were saying that Michael Jackson does not fit the profile of a child molester, that there should be more victims talking out and since there aren't, he could not be guilty.

This is nonsense. According to some statistics, most rape victims do not report the crime. As to there being only a few instead of loads of victims, look at Westerfield. He was in his fifties and only one victim could be located. Furthermore, he did not exactly fit the profile of a child molester either. Yet he even horrible murdered his victim.

The experts who say that Jackson does not fit the profile are like those experts who are still looking for the "real" DC sniper -- you know, the fat white guy with a confederate flag and an NRA bumper sticker on his truck.

The murder of Prosecutor Luna reminded me that scores of death threats have been made against the DA in the MJ case and even against reporters such as Diana Diamond, who has done an excellent job of reporting on the case. And Gerago's threats against anyone complaining about MJ went too far.

Geragos' frenzy shows he's running scared and indicates that MJ has a lot to worry about. Maybe this second boy's complaint is one of the things Geragos feared.

I was surprised to see Michael Jackson defenders right here on Free Republic. They won't talk about the fact that he readily admits to sleeping with pre-teen children and flaunts this in the public's face.

I saw two small children with him on television this morning with masks on, but the masks didn't hide the hair.

Until today, I didn't know that at least one of them (assuming they were his kids) has straight blond hair. He and his ex-wife claim his kids were conceived together in the natural way. I guess the Jackson apologists are going to swear they are really his and Debbie's kids in spite of genetics.

No way.. I don't care what they say, all I know is they cannot be his children. Unless I saw the DNA test to prove they were, I cannot believe they are " his"..That's JMO.
