Tucked inside a intelligence spending bill awaiting the president's signature is a provision that allows the FBI to obtain an individual's financial records from pawn shops, casinos, car dealers and travel agents without a court order.

The measure was included in the intelligence authorization bill and expands on who can be served with "national security letters" that demand financial information on investigations relating to terrorism or counterintelligence. The letters, or subpoenas, do not require judicial review or approval.

"and in the Senate Nov. 21 by voice vote"

They really love the plausible deniability afforded by those voice votes don't they. They don't have to admit to having voted for it while slipping us farther into totalitarianism.

Sounds like there may be a shortage of lawyers for all the new cases coming up. Perhaps that's what lawyers have in mind when they pass all this complex law to begin with eh? Protect the cult from income loss and guarantee the revenue stream far into the future, no matter which side of a case they are on! Our whole country is one big Ponzee (sic) Scheme..one giant MLM apparatus for the lawyers!!
Perhaps is should be illegal for lawyers to serve as legislators due to a conflict of interest?

Now the definition also includes brokers and dealers registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, investment bankers, operators of credit-card systems, insurance companies, dealers in precious metals, stones, or jewels, licensed senders of money, telegraph companies, airplane and boat dealers, Realtors and estate closings, and the U.S. Post Office.

Whose the terrorist now?.......those RubyRidge Waco teams need to know whose got what...always good to have some nice things to confiscate...when the tax coffers run low... all they need is a law...and a judge...and its open says me....
