The real issue about Limbaugh is brought into focus by asking: What does it say about a man if he can talk with contempt, without a shred of compassion, about the shortcomings of other people while knowing that he is no better than they? And that raises the still larger question: What does it say about a society if it repeatedly grants high moral authority to people who practice such hypocrisy?
Barf all you like. The article is correct to point out that Limbaugh is a complete hypocrite.

This author might better remove the "Politically correct tolerance of all sin " forest out of his own eye before he tries to remove the sliver out of Rush's with his blasphamous words.
Rush is doing just as the Holy Word says he should do. "Go, and sin no more".
Can this liberal author go and sin no more, too? I didn't think so. He'll still remain a pro-sin liberal using blasphamy against Gods word for political or personal gain.
His demonic spirit is showing.

This article would presume Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and David Letterman are all filled with contempt and lack compassion because they comment in an entertaining and interesting way about people in the popular culture. If we are to "know" Rush by his show, then what about the money he raises for charities? What about the message of hope, optimism and faith he sends? What about the humor? This article is so slanted it is nothing more than an excuse to be contemptable and compassionless. This is a smoke-screen to be what he accuses Rush of. Interesting he picks Bennett, Gingrich and Limbaugh. Where was he when we learned of Juanita Broderick's rape charge against Clinton? If this article makes this man feel better about himself, then he accomplished it by attempting to cut good men off at their knees. Actually, this would lead me to believe the author is a sick, manipulative deceiver of the highest order. Funny how we learn about others when they set out to "educate" us with their slick rants.

I'd be more impressed by this guy if he spoke up about the hypocrisy of Jesse Jackson, The Clintons, and others on the left.

"Even in a moralist who is himself above reproach, the lack of compassion for sinners would be troubling enough."
Hogwash
I have not been a die hard fan of Rush for some time. He actually did become more compassionate. Compassionate for liberal republicans even. And as it turns out this all started about the same time as his addiction. So I would say that Rush was troubled and he did try not to be a hypocrite. These liberals such as the author of this article seem to think that just because someone commits any sin that they no longer have the right to point out what is right and wrong about anything. Sin we are all sinners than that is a pretty destructive attitude to take. Which is the road a good lot of people are taking even up to the point of saying that why even try to be moral. Lets just all admit that we are what we are....so lets just be what we are. Why change at all.
See where that goes.
I don't think Rush was out there preaching about the evils of the drug he was on. But why should his problem stop him from pointing out any wrong. And you can bet that he has a lot of compassion for anyone that is hooked on that stuff. More than most of us for sure. He made a mistake and he is trying to get on with his life. He had an addiction that held him captive and led him to do things he would not have normally done. His first experience with the drug was as a prescription medicine. He did not go out on the street looking for a high. It was the wrong pain killer for him because it took away his will. And biologically for him it was not a good thing for him. We let murderers plead temporary insanity, but then we pick on Rush who was not himself due to this highly addictive prescription medication. And he did not kill anyone. That is hyprocracy.
And if Rush looses the respect of all his listeners...and one by one all of the other good radio hosts who are also going to commit some sin in there lives... then the world will be a darker place with the liberals who stand for nothing moral or good(and therefore can do no wrong) leading the show.

The writer of this article has never listened to Limbaugh. And anyone that calls Limbaugh a hypocrite is a full blown moron. They are the same people that attacked Bill Bennett for gambling when they've never read anything the man has written.
No, what feeds their limp brains is their own misconceptions and stupidity. They assume, based on stereotypes, that all conservatives and/or Republicans preach morals and condemn those that don't adhere to their ideals. Total crap.
But my favorite "FACT" the left uses is that Rush "got his pills on the black market". How do they know this? There is no evidence out there that in anyway proves this. No, they are, as usual, transferring their own lives onto Rush. They probably get all kinds of drugs themselves on the black market and think everyone else does the same.
Elvis never did. And as new evidence has come out, Rush had many doctors and was probably getting more than one prescription like most Hollywood stars.
More typical hatred without facts from the left. The same ones that throw rocks in their own glass houses. So who's the true hypocrite?
