Former President Reagan rarely wakes up, is bedridden and can neither walk nor talk according to his daughter Patti Davis. Speaking to People magazine, Davis sought to dispel popular misconceptions that her 92-year-old father remains somewhat active and mobile because his privacy has been zealously guarded by his family.
Said Davis: "But it would be a disservice to every family who has an Alzheimer's victim in their embrace to say any of that is true, and I don't believe my father would want us to lie." According to People magazine, the former president "spends his days either in a bed or occasionally in a wheelchair, in a small room at his home in the exclusive Bel Air section of Los Angeles, where he is kept out of the sight of all but his closest family and helpers."
Davis said her family's life is now arranged around Reagan's bedside, where he spends his sedentary days. "When he is awake, which is not that often, he can gaze at the trees outside the window," Davis said.
Michael Reagan the president's oldest son and a leading talk show host told NewsMax.com that despite previous differences between them, the family has rallied around his father, especially after the shoddy treatment a CBS miniseries aired on ShowTime accorded the former president.

Did you happen to catch Ron, Jr., defending his dad and trashing that movie on MSNBC last week?
Talk about coming home!

A&E did a 2-hour biography on RR, which I felt was fair. It did not try to gloss over what some would view as his negatives (ex: Michael Reagan stated that his father never told him that he loved him). What the left doesn't understand is, that we know that RR is human, that he has weaknesses, and faults. What we objected to was outright lies and character assassination. However, it is just easier for them to claim that they were being censored.

Alzheimers is terrible. My grandmother had it. I can't imagine assaulting this poor family with that horrible movie. I hope they know how many people care as they go thru this difficult time.

Speaking of that, I find this sentence:
where he is kept out of the sight of all but his closest family and helpers."
very distasteful. I would imagine he's not "kept out of sight," as much as he is given his privacy.

Just kills me. Me too, me too. And I dread the day when he finally does pass on, when we'll be subjected to a few days of crocodile tears from the sociocommielibs (partying off camera, of course) before they really let loose with the history rewrites.

Sorry to say I missed it, but I'm gratified that Ron, Jr., has come to his father's side.

He's one of a kind. I watched the special on A & E last week about him. I thought it was pretty good. Wish he was still really with us, but I suppose it is a mercy that he doesn't have to see what is going on in our country. There is so much that would dishonor him. God bless him.

The boy was on fire........he was all over the topic and was forceful. He was FURIOUS......and Chris Matthews was actually just as mad as he was. Very gratifying!
