A southern heritage hate piece. Note the references to the Southern Poverty Law Center (a misnomer on the scale of the ACLU), "angry and fearful whites", slavery at the center of the flag, and the mistaken notion that the present south is exactly the same as it was 150 years ago except with cars and toasters. Donna Ladd is evidently the rebel without a clue.

I still don't really know exactly what the flag means.
I have no clue what the flag means, but of course I am fully qualified to write a big long article about it and tell people what to think about it because I mean well and am a liberal.

I still don't really know exactly what the flag meansAnd then she goes on to explain her warped view of the way things are AFTER admitting up front she doesn't know what she's talking about. What a joke.

Look here, this horrid woman is a near Communist.
"She spends her spare time lamenting the Bush administration with her significant friend Todd Stauffer....." [as per her bio here]: http://www.shutup101.com/donna/bio.html)
"significant friend?" Her comrade in arms is more like it.

"It certainly is an emblem of race violence."
She is mst certainly supplanting history with whatever her cell-minders are telling her to think. The battle flag (which wasn't the official flag of the CSA) has represented the threat of repeated insurrection against an oppressive government, not a symbol of oppression against non-Caucasions. If Jesse Jackson started using rainbows as a symbol to help him shake money out of organizations that should know better than to listen to him (NASCAR), should I forever more associate rainbows with blackmail? That the Kluxers chose the battle flag as a symbol does not turn it into a symbol of racism when hundreds of thousands of good men perished under it for sovereignty and representation issues. Nine out of ten dead Confederates would agree.
Should we hold the ancient North Americans liable for coming up with the swastika symbol after the Nazis turned it around and used it?

Lobbyist Haley Barbour proved this when he won a narrow victory here after garnering the latent angry white vote, by, yes, wrapping himself in the rebel flag. Narrow victory? Haley's victory was a near landslide.
This woman would be dangerous but she ignores facts and truth. She's a mess. A lying liberal mess.

"With race at it's center". Damn. That's the most about the Ignorant Statement I have seen on this site in a month or two.
And that's going some.
