Happy New Years and thanks for everything you've been doing to help from me to you. It takes so many to fight evil, whether it's in Pinellas County, in D.C. or in the middle east. There's a lot of bad people out there but thanks to all the good guys.

The kids in the neighborhood are stocked up on cherry bombs and bottle rockets. It's kinda noisy. Maybe someday Terri will get to see fireworks instead of being put on display by the ghouls for their agenda.

Terri is a prisoner and I hope she has a brighter year.

Thank you floriduh voter, for your tireless efforts to save Terri's life. You are my inspiration, in so many ways.

Dear FReepers, let's make 2004 the year Terri is set free from the life of confinement and isolation she leads today. Let her come home to her family, let her feel the sun on her face, let her have all the things she has been deprived of for so long, and let justice be served. The time has come to picket Bernie McCabe.

Happy New Year!

I should have posted that the request to picket Bernie McCabe came from Cheryl F. RN, who spoke on the Schiavo case Tuesday night. She is helping the Schindlers coordinate the efforts of Terri's supporters for maximum impact. Hope there are more than a few FReepers outside the courthouse Jan. 7 & 8!

Terri makes the Top 10 Health/Medicals Stories of 2003:

1. SARS
2. Atkins Diet Gains Credibility
3. Obesity Surgery
4. New Medicare Prescription-Drug Benefit
5. Congress Passes a New Law to Promote Safe Drugs for Children
6. Hypertension Guidelines Expand

7. The Case of Terri Schiavo: Meaningful Life or Hopeless Limbo?

Terri Schiavo suffered brain damage in 1990 and has required tube feedings to keep her alive in a persistent vegetative state. Her husband and parents interpret the situation and Terri's wishes very differently. At the husband's legal request, tube feedings were discontinued. However, the Florida legislature quickly passed a law allowing the Governor to intervene, and the feedings resumed. While Terri Schiavo's fate remains unresolved for now, her case has renewed discussion and debate about the definition of meaningful life, the right to die, the rights of family members to make health-care decisions for loved ones who are unable to decide for themselves, and the government's role when family members disagree.

Thank you for the interest in my efforts, but actually, I only live *near* Pinellas County. I live in Lakeland, Florida, "Imperial" Polk County, a Republican stronghold, in many ways.

Wampus SC also wonders if I was the same Gordon who posted a few days ago. Probably, as I've posted here several times.

Of the four court actions I've initiated, three are still pending:

Most current 6th Circuit action, with court briefs, are noe posted online.

The Fla 2nd DCA, about a block from my home, dismissed my Habeas petitions, about a day after filing them.

The Fla Supreme Court has neither dismissed nor affirmed my petitions. (Still pending)

I've made petitions or comlaints of human rights violations before the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, United Nations @ Geneva.

I know what you might be thinking (liberal do-nothing UN! ~ however, we can use any help we can get)

These petitions are also posted online, in both sorry *.txt text format, and the prettier, HTML format.

We must succeed - or, we could be next, you know? A little hospital stay, and then "long and exrutiating..." ...let's put it this way... we would die of dehydration before starvation, as we can only go about 4-5 days without water (I don't see how Schiavo made it 6 days and 2 hours- or whatever it was - it was longer then six days)

peace

I can't see the original post below, so I 'll copy and paste it in.

Although this is an old post, maybe some confusion still reigns, so I'll reply.

I hope that no one is put off by my apparent attack on Jeb in regards to my lawsuits which seek the mandatory recount law requires in some instances.

I am only on the side of the Law, so matter who is the perpetrator, and, in fact, it was Jim Smith, a buck-toothed Democrat, and successor to Sec of State, Kathrine Harris, who violated the election laws here.

What is more important than party politics is the fact that the election laws were violated in 2002 (Reno v McBride). Now, in 2000, I also filed an amicus with regards to that election (Bush v Gore), but I did not allege a violation of law, only a suggestion that we, like Hawaii in 1960 (JFK v Nixon) and Washington State (Sen Marie Cantwell) do a statewide recount, becasue I didn't want there to be questions about George W Bush's eventual victory, a cloud so to speak hanging over his head.

Now, in 2002, that was a dfifferent story: While Al Gore got a count, statewide machine recount, and some hand counts to boot, Reno who was also defeated by less than half a percent, was illegally denied.

Now, she's given up, but my suits are still valid.

Sorry if you're confused, but I'll make my point:

The 2002 Reno v McBride election had one thing in common with the mistreatments of Theresa Schindler-Schiavo:

Both were illegal, hense my reluctant, but eventual, involvment. I'm not a lawyer - or even a law student, so I am being taken from my normal line of work to do these things, but alas, I am right: The "Rule of Law" msut be upheld.

(Yes, I know Reno's a Democrat, but the laws still applies to protect her - whether she likes it or not.)

The 2000 amicus was merely an attempt to avoid any dark clouds over GW Bush, by giving the democrats all the chances they needed to silence the critics.

My side of the 2002 lawsuit is posted on my website - and we've all but forgotten the 2000 election.

Terri's Fight - (Daily Thread/Updates)

It appears that Gordon W.Watts was involved in the 2000 Florida election fiasco.

Look here: http://www.flcourts.org/sct/clerk/briefs/2003/201-400/03-385_ini.pdf

and here: http://www.flcourts.org/pubinfo/election/OrdWatts.pdf

I'm not quite awake yet so I can't tell whcih side he was on. Can anyone figure these docs out?

I can definitely understand your point about the laws needing to be applied consistently.
In Terri's case I believe I read that DCF would not pursue the matter because it is a civil case. Au contraire, if Terri were a minor involved in a custody dispute and abuse allegations were brought up they'd be involved in a heartbeat. A pedophile would not be allowed to serve as guardian because of the obvious 'conflict of interest' yet Michael can break the law and still hold her life in his hands with the blessing of the courts which are supposed to interpret the law, yet seem to be ignorant of understanding the English language.Judge Greer is on the Commmittee for Guardianship Monitoring yet doesn't apply the statutes pertaining to guardians to Michael.
They must be in a vacuum. How many other situations of injustice have people endured and noone knew about it. I thought the 2000 election fiasco was a pitiful shame...it doesn't hold a candle to Terri's case. They are going to murder her. I feel like someone needs to pinch me sometimes so I'll wake up. It's absolutely unbelievable that we have so much corruption in the system and equally unbelievable that half our citizens are oblivious to it.
Thanks for keeping us posted gww1210

After the laws the Clinton administration broke, I wouldn't worry about anything that helps Reno or anyone else closely assoicated with Clinton, but I do think you are doing a very good service by filing briefs for Terri.

If a law was broken in the Reno election, your brief deserves to be heard, but I'm not going to bother reading it.

Since there are mostly liberal judges in Florida, I would think the judges would favor Reno, so your must not have made as strong a case as you might think.

But good luck with stirring the pot in Terri's case.

Terri's brother kept whispering in Terri's ear to "hang in there." It can't be said enough that there were also so many prayers for Terri by lay people and healing ministers. We have a rally on Jan 7th and 8th between 4 - 7:00 pm at the courthouse complex on 49th st. We are protesting Bernie McCabe's do nothing stance. Time for me to make yet another sign.
