Sandra Jolly said her 6-year-old son's Christmas was spoiled when his teacher told the first-grade class Monday that "Santa Claus is make-believe."

"He had this sad, lost puppy dog look on his face. This unhappy, empty look," Jolly said. "He said his teacher informed the entire class that Santa is make-believe."

All kidding aside, I should warn everyone about how pedophiles DO take advantage of Santa jobs :-(

I used to monitor pedophile groups and every year several would brag about their Santa gigs. I could give you quotes that would turn your stomach. After that, my kids never sat on a Santa lap except when my Dad dressed up as the good St. Nick...

Santa Claus is a bold face lie? Really? And what about the Tooth Fairy? I guess a parent should explain the dental realities and toss the baby tooth in the trash...and don't get me started on the Easter Bunny. Heck...we even set up Leprechaun traps (I'm Irish--I'm allowed) and our little ones get foil wrapped chocolate gold coins that Paddy leaves behind.

I have five children...the oldest two are in college and we still have three at home (with the youngest being only six). The magic of childhood only lasts so long. The wonderment and joy those years bring should be celebrated...and parental rights (yes rights...it is my right to tell my kids that Santa leaves presents for them on Christmas morning, should not be absconded by some nitwit, dues paying member of the NEA. And yes this is the teacher's fault.)

For what it is worth, my kids all know the true meaning of Christmas, and Easter. Santa brings each of our kids three gifts--because the baby Jesus received three gifts and we celebrate his birth.

Now where did I put my 'Its a Wonderful Life' tape--we believe in angels here too.....

Which goes to show he isn't even reading Howlin's posts, because she has said she was a grandma about a hundred times. : ) I didn't remember, but I figured it out all by myself.

Thank you! Excellent observation.

When I saw Santa in the Thanksgiving Day parade I knew it was an imposter. Most telling was the outfit. Some kind of Scandanavian 'Heidi" suit rather than the normal red one

Well, that Santa certainly sounds "diverse"... I wonder if he was an affirmative action Santa :-)

He's a male transvestite from London........LOL.

He's an actor and a standup comedian. You would positively love him because his jokes are SO chocked full of history and current events, you have to be very intelligent to get them!

There are trolls, disruptors, DU escapees, and all manner of fringers here now. There should be some kind of entrance exam to join FR, to make certain that members really ARE Conservatives, but there isn't. :-(

>ROFLMAO! Yes, an entrance exam, that's it!

Or we could just sprinkle some Holy Water on 'em...

It was awful, the whole presentation with Katie and Matt. So I waited till the end to see Santa and bam! Not fit for any six year old IMO.

I've seen some of the new kinds.... they do look wonderful :-)

I saw a tree outside last year that kept changing colors but it would always be two colors at once: red/green, then green/gold, then gold/white, white/blue...

The colors would just slowly shimmer into a new combination and stay that way for a minute... it was stunning!
