Letter from Grad in Samarra

Here is a note from one of our young Grads that was shared with me, I thought you all might enjoy hearing about what our troops experience on a daily basis...These troops are truly amazing young people!

Friends and Family, Sorry to write so much, but I know Samarra was in the news a lot lately and I just wanted y'all to know I am fine. The ambush was with my company here, I was not there, but two of my tanks and 8 of my soldiers were. My soldiers are all fine. All of my soldiers (15) have been shot at many times in this deployment, and all have had to kill their attackers...so far they are all handling it well, but please pray for their mental and spiritual well-being. Some of the information in the news is accurate and some is not. It was a crazy fight with 100 or so attackers with RPGs, rifles, and mortars. We called it the "Wild, Wild West" b/c all of the streets cleared (normally very busy) b/c the locals knew what was going down. There were a few Americans wounded but all will live. We did kill 50+ enemy in that engagement alone...they were very stupid, running in the middle of the roads and shooting our tanks with rifles and RPGs (not a very good weapon against our tanks). Our soldiers did some AMAZING work though, in a very tough environment, and killed or wounded almost all of the attackers. These guys are very willing to die for their cause so we gladly assist them. Please pray for them though, I do not know if they are brainwashed or what by their culture and/or religion...we are making every effort to help them but they keep stirring up trouble. Most of the people in Iraq do want peace, and do love having us here, but there is still a rowdy bunch that is causing trouble. Anyhow thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers, it is still dangerous here, but our soldiers and equipment are overpowering the enemy here in Samarra. Happy December! God bless!

Amazing mentality of the Sunni's, it would not seem to be a winning strategy other than to cause mental anguish among our troops.

They are just tough sadists...still hoping against hope to wear down our troops
and praying that their assembled Cavalry of the French, Germans and
the Democratic National Committee will ride to their rescue.

Realistically, these "dead-enders" of the Baathist Party probably were part and parcel
of Saddam's terror administration...and they realistically fear what might happen if
peace and any sort of a regional "Nuremburg" trial is convened.

There should be a "Nuremburg" like trial in IRAQ!
