I'm working on my food column. Honest!

HOWEVER, a search of the hard drive turned up this "gem" from the journal. I could retitle it "Different Day, Same Stuff." ;)

I wrote this a couple of days ago. It probably describes the mood lately better than a narrative would anyhow.

Hunger

Pickles
Preferably homemade bread and butter ones
Except for the candied sweet ones
That belong in macaroni salad.
Rich dark chocolate.
Caffeinated soft drinks:
Namely, plenty of
Icy, chilled to perfection,
Mountain Dew
Served in a frosted goblet.
Beef stroganoff crepes.
Yes, even quiche!
Especially with broccoli.
Prime rib and new red potatoes.
A juicy, grilled strip steak
With lots of garlic,
Unless it's a boneless rib steak
With my special rub
Or a grilled hamburger
Topped with fresh tomato.
Real french fries.
Bacon. Eggs. Hash browns.
Toast or homemade bread
With real butter.
Seedless blackberry jam.
Cinnamon and sugar and real vanilla.
Pecan waffles with
Real maple syrup
(and real butter for them, too).
Lobster. Crab legs. Shrimp.
Angel hair pasta in Alfredo sauce,
Topped with lots of fresh-ground Parmesan,
Of course.
A fresh salad with bleu cheese dressing
Or Roquefort.
Amish bakery angel food cake.
A thick, thick hot fudge shake.
Homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Cheesecake!

I need to cook dinner
Or find love.
Soon!

Oh, like we've heard THAT before. I thought you were doing the painting yourself? Hmmm?

She knocked him silly. The "stunned" loser got a trip down the road before he was released.

I was going to do the side walls, but decided no way. I will just have to suffer through this! :-( The painters have been doing ceilings, they are nearly 15' high, I'm only a Little Blonde FReeper!!

A lil mousie here wasn't quite so fortunate this morning. No trip down the road for release.....it was presented on the back porch as a "present". EEEEEUUUUU!!
Found another "present" (a bird) by the carport door, too. ICK!! I wish the kitties weren't so "generous". LOL!

My "fat cat" (age 16) is doing alot of "hunting" with the phoney mice that I buy her. I swear that she's going into her "second kitten-hood"! She's up all night, prowling the house, makin' noises, & bringing up the "phoney" mice & other small toys, that she "caught", & dropping them within reach!

Do you have any battery-operated toy mousies for her to "hunt"? We have two different ones and it's a riot to watch. Half the kitties are afraid of them and the others go bonkers trying to catch them. LOL!!

One is touch-activated....touch it and it runs around for a few seconds....and we leave that one on all the time. It's fun to watch the kitties walk up to it, whack it with a paw, then chase it. hehehe!!

Hey troublemaker.

Since you asked earlier I'll tell you. I talked to Beth a few minutes ago and her entire family is sick. She said tell everyone hello and her cable is supposed to be tied back together tomorrow. If she feels up to it she will stop in to say hello. She didn't sound good, so I wouldn't count on seeing her for a couple of days.

AM NOT.
