THIS is a new development - I searched and read all the latest stories on this this last weekend and at that time they had not committed to: " all 12 are connected " ...

I drove this way today and I didn't see ONE LEO anywhere. My wife actually was ducking from 62/3 to 71.
I thought there was supposed to be some police presence?

What's different b/w the Maryland shootings and the I-270 shootings is that the I-270 are in a concentrated area, and people still drive through it. The Muhammed/Malvo created more havoc over a wider area, but they also killed many more people.

"Berrill said the shootings were the work of a person who loves the thrill
of causing panic, although he may not intend to kill." Well, if someone is shooting at cars with people in them
my first thought is the shooter is intent on shooting someone
and killing them.

This is different because it appears they just shoot at moving vehicles, not at people just standing around pumping gas or loading items into the car. If you can drive this route you could almost clothesline with a boxtruck ir a semi as a shield like I did for about a 100 yards. My wife ducked for a bit but just sorta thought if I get shot, better me than my kids.

Berrill said the shootings were the work of a person who loves the thrill of causing panic, although he may not intend to kill. I get the feeling this is the case; that the shooter meant to hit the cars to scare people but didn't intend to kill anyone
I bet there will be no more shootings

Spotters with binoculars somwhere? Good point...I did see a few cars on the side of the road but they seemed unoccupied. One had no tire and I thought, "Hmm...shot out???" hah.

Trust me. They're out there. Now at least they are.
Problem is, the usual lack of police jurisdiction communication and cooperation led to a tragic death. These police departments that can't seem to share information on TWELVE highway shootings in a concentrated area in a short period of time are the same police departments that Governor Bobblehead Taft and the Ohio State Patrol swear will protect us from all the bad guys. One police officer was going to throw a bullet he dug out of a lady's car seat away when she reported her car had been shot in this area recently. We don't need CCW in Ohio says they!
This pisses me off royally as I and several of my family members have passed through this stretch of road goodness knows how many times over the past few months with small children in the vehicles.

I don't think this conclusion was too much of a stretch.
