NASCAR champion Matt Kenseth and a large group of current and former Winston Cup stars were honored Tuesday at the White House by President Bush.
With seven brightly colored Winston Cup cars arrayed behind him on the south lawn, and nine of the 2003 top 10 drivers standing alongside, the President joked, "I see a lot of the Bubbas who work in my administration have shown up."

I think he has been a fan for a long time, but aside this will get a million times more southern voters than Deans Confederate Flag and Pickup Trucks comment.
I think he should put in a go-cart track for the young ones surrounding the little league field.

I see my driver was the only top ten-er to not show up. If Gordon is a demoRat, I'm peeling his sticker off the back of my truck.

He most certainly is not.
Spoke up for the troops and Bush more than once last season.
He just had a prior commitment. (I can't figure out what it is though)

I love Earnhardt Jr and Jimmie Johnson is a looker. Perhaps, all the Gordon haters have been right all along about the rainbow car.

Jeff was in New York and appeared on the Today Show and was interviewed by Matt LowBrow. He looked kind of scruffy with a few days stubble. Maybe he had to do a razor ad or something today. ;-)

Was this event scheduled before Dean's bozo come-on to Southern whites? If so - it just shows - like his well-planned in advace Thanksgiving visit upstaging the Ice Fuehrette - that Providence itself is smiling on W...(Knock on wood...don't wanna jinx him).

Jeff Gordon is my son's favorite driver.
And he is a good driver.
Have not had the heart to tell my boy that Jeff and the $3 dollar bill have much in common.

yeah, the #8 is the other sticker on my truck. My adoration for the dad has shifted to the son. oh, and ya might want to check the colors on the dupont car. I don't think they can be called 'rainbow warriors' anymore. ;o)

Cool pictures! Glad to see Mark Martin was there. He's the only Nascar driver that I've heard may be a Democrat. That's not to say all the others are Republicans. I know Rusty Wallace isn't a Dem. And Dale Earnhardt Sr was a big Bush supporter in 2000 so hopefully Dale Jr will follow in his dad's steps when it comes to that. :^)
Was this on C-Span or anywhere?
