So here's a story my mom told us:

Dubya and the Pope go fishing. The Pope loses his hat. One of the secret service men offers to swim over to get the hat. Dubya says no, he'll go get his Holiness' hat. So Dubya walks across the water, retrieves the hat, and returns it to the Pope.

On the evening news, the lead story ran, "Dumb Bush can't even swim."
