SAMARRA, Iraq -- One of the bloodiest engagements since the fall of Saddam Hussein showed a new, deadlier side of the Iraqi insurgency: stepped up, coordinated assaults by groups of guerrillas bent on battle rather than a hit-and-run attack, the U.S. military said yesterday.

Funny, I saw morons that think they have purpose, put on the uniform of the Fedayan Saddam and got slaughtered making bad move.

WTG USA!

Let's have more of these opportunities to wipe out thugs.

I saw a gang of ex-cons, released by the previous despot trying to make a big score robbing the Federal Reserve stagecoach in a wild desert town of the Old West. Billy the Kid never heard of M1A2 Abrams though. The response our men gave, if not proportional (i don't know, just a bit of speculation), will build resentment similar to that of he Mexican peasants before their glorious revolution. Except my friends are over their playing the role of Federale troops this time.

No one's mentioned this, but if there were that many men, why attack the US troops head on, and not simply storm the bank vault after the US envoy withdrew. So it wasn't about the money?

The Iraqis will create heroes of these men, just as the dime store novels made heroes of the outlaws of the Old West.

"Here it seems they had the training to stand and fight," said Capt. Andy Deponai, whose tank was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade during the firefight Sunday in Samarra, north of Baghdad."

I just hope we didn't train them. I tend to think that many of our Iraqi brothers in Arms (in the police and the newly formed army) are working againdt us. Hopefully, we have ID'd them. If any of the jerks we blew away were our "friends," I hope we take note and develop a new vetting system.

What Iraqis? Supporters of Saddam? ALL of them? No, that's nonsensical.

Do you think ALL people in the Old West thought Jesse James was a hero as he was portrayed? No. That too was nonsensical.

Even the gangsters of the 1930's like Bonnie and Clyde were tabloid fodder for the idiots that persist in our societies. Didn't do them much good in the end now did it?

I'll take my chances on the OVERWHELMING number of people that aren't as stupid to buy into your theory.

The vetting system is not perfect and was rushed. But overall, I think we are doing fine. I'd bet in a few months that the precentage of jerks being employed in the Iraqi police and armies will be no worse than the ones in the United States.

We have some worthless cops and soldiers too.

We should give all of the new recruits 'immunizations'.

The final shot will be one of those subcutaneous veterinary id chips. Then we'll know who is doing what.

Good idea! But do you think the Fifth Column Left (with their disproprtionate voice) would go along with that?
