It worked! It worked! My note to you really helped me win. Thanks for showing up today so I could write a syrupy sweet (but sincere) letter to an old friend. God bless you.
(Honest to God, that was a sincere note. I wasn't trying to bribe anyone. I feel bad I didn't FReepmail it). LOL

Now, now, don't feel guilty. I like to launch into some extraneous point that's a diversion from the contest as a basis for my decisionmaking/judging on occasion. It helps everyone understand this is a game, not a competition.
In fact, usually the fact that you enter often doesn't help you with me -- just today I felt you were such a constant, cheerful presence it was going to count for something.
Some other day, jwfiv's cute nominaton of the Thin Man and The Thin Man's careful, repeated declarations that he did NOT want me to pick him might have tempted me to pick him.
It's all very arbitrary, I'm the first to concede it! So no winner's guilt at winning and no worry about losing. I'm most deliberately whimsical in my judging!
That said, I really did like ALL of your entries. MeekNMing's Helen Thomas pick is really funny. xp38 and dutchess had a zenlike simplicity and Rumsfeld humor to their entires. On a day where I was going to judge solely on being the most like Rumsfield, they might have come in nos. 1 and 2. It's all very, well, I guess the word I'm looking for is silly.
