Oller Stops Illegal Alien Driver's License Law SB 1XXX Passes Final Legislative Test With Flying Colors
SACRAMENTO: Legislation from Senator Rico Oller (R-San Andreas) passed its final legislative test in the State Assembly today, passing by a 64-9 vote. SB 1XXX authorizes a complete repeal of SB 60, the bill that awarded driver's licenses to illegal aliens in California. The Oller legislation will be forwarded to Governor Schwarzenegger for his signature.
"This is one of those rare moments where legislators from both political parties recognized the will of the people of California and did the right thing," said Senator Oller. "The repeal of SB 60 was one of several campaign promises made by Governor Schwarzenegger, and I'm pleased to have played a role in making it happen."
SB 1XXX is an urgency bill, and its passage means California law will remain as it has been when it comes to the practice of applying for and receiving driver's licenses. Applicants will still need to present their Social Security numbers and proof of identity to obtain a license. Non-citizens will need to prove that they have complied with American immigration laws in order to obtain valid licenses.
The dangers under SB 60 have been well documented. The legislation would have allowed illegal aliens, fugitives, felons, terrorists, minors seeking to pose as adults, and anyone else without valid identification to obtain a California drivers' license in whatever name and address they chose to provide. Several states had also threatened to stop accepting the California Driver's License as valid identification had SB 60 been allowed to take effect this January.
For more information about the passage of SB 1XXX, or to schedule an interview with Senator Oller, please contact Communications Director Bill Bird at (916) 445-5788.

Every Republican should have voted against the bill and killed it!
It would have been much better to have stopped it with the referendum since the yes vote would have been so overwhelming that the democrats wouldn't dare bring it up again.
Now a new bill will be introduced in January with "backround checks" that Arnold will sign and it will be much harder to get the signatures on a new referendum which will still have to be done within 90 days of the signing of the bill.
By repealing the current bill we have been had!

These links will take you to each Traitor's website for phone or fax contacts:
These are the worst of the worst in California. We can't just lynch them like they should be, but a lot of phone calls will get the message out!

No apparently not worth bumping. For the last time, the Free Republic moderators have de-classified this "Breaking News" not worthy of your reading. If your're not in "The Club", you can't post a story that hadn't even been on the news when it was posted. Taking the time to reseach who voted against the measure (Sure, I bet the media will do that for all of you), provide their email addresses and webpages makes me an undesirable here. BAN ME! Better yet, I do it myself. You can now delete this as you do to all the people who have tried to help FR. There will be a price to be paid.

Thank your for this post. To see the names of the corrupt politicians in print is like a tattoo: Those people will always be recognized for their racist, political abuse of their office. Forever. Our Constitution will somehow survive. God Bless America.

B/S. It's in "Front Page" news. It was taken out of "Breaking News" because it's not breaking news. Anyone who wants to read it or bump it or act on it is certainly free to do so.

I'm concerned about the bravado over the Notorious 9.
Will that bravado still exist when a Republican governor signs an almost duplicate bill next year?
Will he become the Notoriator?
To: comwatch
Cha ching. Another promise made, another promise kept by the Gov. Interesting, only 2 hispanics voted no.

Assemblyman Lou Correa
Represents Orange County. You ought to be able to do something with this guy.
To: dalereed
You people in California did an excellent job getting all those signatures for the recall and the drivers license. I congratulate all of you. I absolutely believe it can be done again as people are tired of the illegals draining our economy via welfare, etc.
