Employees at as many as 16 area Starbucks were greeted Sunday morning with stores whose doors had been glued shut, police said, in objection to the ubiquitous chain's "corporate coffee."
Protesters placed glue in the locks at several stores in central and western Houston and left behind fliers.
"I bet you are wondering why your local Starbucks is closed this morning," one read, according to Houston Police Department spokesman Alvin Wright. Attempts to reach officials with Starbucks on Sunday were unsuccessful.
"This dispute appears to be part of an ongoing conflict between these individuals and the chain," Wright said.
Employees were able to unseal the locks and opened for business as scheduled, Wright said.

And Starbucks is a left leaning corporation donating to about every liberal cause there is. Funny how it does not "buy" protection from even more left leaning persons...

Here's a composite sketch of the culprit.

Furthermore, Starbucks gives all of its employees perks. When my local Starbucks opened the protestors showed up with coffee from Winchell's Donuts in their hands ... as though Winchells was a paragon of virtue.

About as much sense as boycotting General Motors cars because G.M. is a corporation.

That's easy, just change the name of "Corporate Coffee" to "Rainforest Pro-Choice Civil Union."

I usually get my Java fix at the local Coffee House (privately owned) and avoid Starbucks (too pricy). I think today will be an exception. Nothing beats these leftist idiots faster then showing support for that which they despise.
Show we are RIGHT! Buy a Starbucks coffee today!

Agreed. Starbucks is just a left-leaning corporation that became too successful. I don't buy the whole argument that it's because they're buying coffee from oppressed workers in South America because you don't see these damned liberals super-glueing the doors on every supermarket that sells Folgers or Maxwell House. It's all about becoming successful, and that's EEEEEEVILLLLL!!!!! Those damn liberals should be super-glueing their mouths shut!
As for myself, I boycott Starbucks only because I think their coffee tastes like a$$ :-P
