My Mother-in-law was in town for Thanksgiving. Yes, my wonderful, dear, precious, old, Clinton-loving, venom spewing, liberal belching, sweet Mother-in-law.

I walked into the kitchen one evening before dinner and she was on her fourth little bottle of those mini Zinfandels and polishing off a bag of Chex Mix and she was trying to "teach" my kids a little about politics. She has been volunteering at the White House (actually next door) stuffing envelopes for thirty+ years and her whole life centers around Democratic politics. She goes to all the luncheon speeches by Senate and Congressional wives, book signings, White House lawn ceremonies, you name it. She and her little gaggle of merry widows grab their little instamatic cameras and fight over rope line positions to see who can get on the evening news.

(Side note: she sent my wife a framed picture of herself shaking hands with Bill Clinton. My wife set it on an end table in the living room. I was bored one day and took the picture out of the frame, added a little black beret and some kneepads and put the picture back together and placed it back on the end table. Three weeks later, we had a little get together and my wife was showing off the picture when she stopped in mid sentence.... I still haven't heard the end of that.)

As I walked in, she was telling them, "Don't listen to your father, he doesn't know what he's talking about!", and spewing the usual crap. My kids looked at me and just rolled their eyes. My son asked if he should take the bottle away from her.

I laughed and told him that everything the Democrats say will forever ring hollow because of their defence of Bill Clinton. They will never have any credibility and their talking heads on TV will only have the respect of the brainwashed liberal crowd because of their blind loyalty. To prove it, I mentioned how the major media fought to sweep all the criminal behavior under the rug.

She asked what I was talking about and I told her I was talking about Juanita Broadrick, a rape victim that named Bill Clinton as the rapist.

Despite the fact that she's a loyal Tom Brokaw/NBC/MSNBC (Lisa Myers interview) viewer, she absolutely had no earthly idea what I was talking about. I looked at the kids and said, "You see?"

My dear old Mother-in-law took the train back to D.C. yesterday morning. I packed her a couple of bags of ChexMix and a few more Zinfandels and trust me, she was at the station with plenty of time to spare... I pity the fool that had to sit next to her.
